“Something Bad Happened”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 31, 2011

While bad is an overstatement something not so good did happen the last time we visited. I have always liked the place and found it quite nice before events at the University. I love family owned restaurants where you feel a bit like a part of the family and not part of a corporation. The feeling is still there but our food was most average. The special tortellini was as tough as a boot without any special flavor from the filling. The Yellowtail fish special was a very small serving which may have been a blessing because it was not very good. The salads were limp and small and everything else was everything else. I also noticed that for a Saturday night they were not busy but perhaps in the heat of summer Italian was too heavy for many. I will give it another try but they need to step up their game.

“Consistently Good”

The pasta is fresh and the sauces authentic.
I am always amazed how consistent the food is here...year after year.
I like it!

“Great place, very yummy and cozy”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2011

This is great Italian food in Albuquerque. Definitely our favorite nice Italian restaurant in town. This is where we went for Valentine's Day, where we take my mother in law when she's in town, and where we go when we want to have a romantic, lovely Italian meal. The wine selection is very good and they do a great job with both the pastas and the seafood. Highly recommend.

“Made When You Order It”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 16, 2011

We wanted to keep this review brief because we honestly believe that Vivace is the "real deal" when it comes to food. The food isn't sitting in the back waiting to be nuked after you order it. The plates are freshly made to your order. It means a lot to us and we plan on going back every time we're going through Albuquerque.
