This establishment would be classified under the classic "Hole in the Wall" style of restaurant. Nothing fancy, but it's the Mom & Pop Shop's that are always hard to surpass! This is a local favorite for lunch, especially with the people that work downtown, so you’ll need to get there before noon to get a table or you may have to wait for a seat. Parking is limited also.
My wife & I have lived in Albuquerque for over quarter century now, & this is one of our personal favorites. Honestly, they have the best red chile Carne Adovada in town, & there’s plenty of hard competition in the area.
Tito has since passed away, but Mary, the owner, walks around to each table to ask how your meal was. A real touch of down home class & tradition. My wife & I eat there so regularly, that we are on a first name basis with Mary. She really cares about her customers.
My wife & I would highly recommend Mary's & Tito's Cafe for a truly authentic Mexican meal at an unbelievably reasonable price...
