“Good Food, But Lousy Atmosphere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 24, 2013

The buffet, in my opinion, is the best in town. It includes some non-standard, delicious dishes, such as the peanut chicken. The selection is amazing as well as fresh and hot. There is even a serve yourself ice cream bar with really delicious choices. Everything, from the soups to the carb selections to the salads is outstanding. The service is friendly and the prices are excellent. So why not an excellent rating? The decor is horrendous! It is sorely in need of upgrading...booths, carpeting, a coat of paint, some decor. It is, however, clean...for me, that's the main factor. Those looking for a dining "experience" will (sadly) pass this place up. As for me...I'm a foodie and go for the cuisine...just close your eyes and eat!

“Good Chinese Buffet - Lots of Chicken Dishes!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

This is one of my favorite Chinese buffets in Albuquerque. The food is very good, and the staff work hard keeping the dishes fresh (i.e. not leaving the food sitting too long where it starts drying out).

The majority of the dishes prepared are made with chicken, but there are lots of very good dishes to choose from...everything from pineapple chicken to spicy chicken and a lot in between including a very tasty peanut butter chicken. In addition to the chicken, they have a few shrimp dishes, duck, pork, noodles, and a few vegetarian items. You will also find a selection of sides including egg rolls, rangoons, yakitori, and soups. They also have a dessert selection and an ice cream station. Overall, I think there's a little something for everybody.

The staff is always very friendly and attentive, and the restaurant is always very clean. The cost is around $21 for 2 meals and 2 drinks (ice tea and soda) when me and my wife visit...I believe this is comparable to other buffets around town.

I would definitely recommend China King if you're hungry and in the mood for Chinese!

“Best in Albuquerque”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

Amazingly fresh, delicious American Chinese buffet for half the cost of other buffets in Albuquerque. Wait staff constantly stand watch to refill drinks and welcome new customers within seconds of arrival. The greeter's smile brightens the whole room, which is a feat unto itself since huge windows light the entire restaurant so there are no dark corners like so many Chinese restaurants. Kitchen staff keep the buffet spotless and fully supplied with mostly Chinese selections but also peel and eat shrimp, french fries and small donuts. Lastly, no icy watery soft serve ice cream machine here, rather tubs of awesome creamy ice cream in 8 great flavors. We ate Sunday lunch and were lucky to get seated right away as the restaurant was full within minutes of our arrival, obviously very popular with the 'after church fellowship crowd". They were able to seat large groups and families without missing a beat due to the large floorplan.

“If you want a Chinese Buffet in Albuquerque, this is the place!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 26, 2012 via mobile

China King Super Buffet is that, just "Super". Very fresh, hot (temperature), great tasting Chinese food. They know super, with 4 or 5 hot buffets with many items on each buffet. There is 2 buffets of desserts. They do a great job of keeping items stocked. The inside is clean and nicely decorated. All this at a very reasonable lunch price and they offer a 10 percent senior discount. Next time I come to Albuquerque, the only name I'm thinking went I want Chinese is China King!

“Good buffet”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 27, 2009

The lunch buffet is expansive and has many offerings. I do not believe this is the best buffet but it is very good for the area. Lin's is better but located on the west side of town. The attendants are very good at picking up used dishes and the food seems to be plentiful and filling.
