I was happy to return to El Pinto after 2-3 years of avoiding it. There were several things that I thought had been improved: (1) We were seated immediately and the staff seemed genuinely happy to see us, (2) the table cloths were cleaner, (3) the wait staff was delightful and got everything right, and (4) the food was great. I had the Tamale Plate, which was very nice. The masa was a little too fluffy, but the stuffing was very tasty. Rice, beans, salad and sopaipillas were nice also. Mostly, the thing that wins me over here, time after time, is the ambience. It was just the perfect place to take my friends (from Tennessee) on their last night in town. I'm glad we gave it a go.
