“This BBQ makes all the others mediocre”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 14, 2011 via mobile

After having Rudy's all other BBQ pales in comparison. If you have the brisket don't get the lean(it can be a little dry) get the one with the fat! Much more moist! Sausages great! Get a bottle of rudy's sauce for the grill at home

“Tasty, messy BBQ”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2011

Disclaimer: I am not a BBQ fan. I can take it or leave it most of the time. I was in Albuquerque for a conference and went to Rudy's for lunch since it was across the street - I had the chicken, which was awesome. It was not junked up with a gooey sauce. It had been spiced with a very good dry rub and cooked until it fell off the bone. Loved it. I just wish they had other side dishes besides white bread (ypu pay by-the-piece), macaroni or potato salad, little corn cobs, green beans or baked beans. I am not a Southerner and when it comes to BBQ I am not with the plan, I admit that freely. Everything here is a la carte - want a piece of bread or cheese, it costs separately. Overall this was fine for lunch but I wouldn't go out of my way to return. Lunch cost about $7 - average. I arrived with a large group and there was no problem with seating or service at the peak of lunch time. We sat inside and it was very noisy. Very friendly staff. I could like BBQ if the side dishes were better.

“Rudy's made our graduation party a success!”

Everyone loved Rudy's brisket, pulled pork, and smoked turkey. Mmm that sauce is great, too.

“This is down home BBQ at it s best”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 27, 2011

We go to Rudy's at least once a month. Can't beat the lean brisket and their smoked baked potato's (fully loaded with butter and sour cream). It's not fancy, you will get your smoked meats (turkey, beek and pork) served up with slices of bread and your choices of sides (cole slaw, beans, pie, etc...). What it lacks in elegance it more than makes up for in taste. This is awesome BBQ.

“a great find”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 13, 2011

Rudy's is a local restaurant with long tables & condiments on checkered table cloths. It is basically a meat market where you order at the counter, get your meat by the pound, they give you bread and you make your own sandwich. The food is fresh and the place is clean. A wonderful experience.
