“Great if you need space”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2009

Stayed here with the extended family in a two-bed, two-batch room with full kitchen. It was wonderful. Everyone had plenty of room and it felt like we had rented a small apartment. The location of the hotel is excellent, close to I-25 and short drive everywhere. Several good restaurants within walking distance (through the parking lot) but also had the kitchen for snacks. The free breakfast and evening snacks were pathetic. Breakfast was ok once we figured out to stick to the basics like toasted english muffin and bananas. The other cut fruit was not ripe/fresh and the other options (sauage patties one day), just weren't of a good quality. Pretty gross. One evening they offered frito pie, and a second was tomatoe soup and grilled cheese. Neither of these were good. They did always have coffee and soft drinks available in the lobby which was convenient. Everything else about our stay was wonderful and I would stay again if in ABQ.

We stayed here 3 nights during balloon fiesta. The 2-bedroom, 2-bath suite with kitchen, fireplace and living room was perfect for our family of 6 - grandparents, adult children and a 2-year old. Each room had a queen-sized bed and its own flat-screen TV; the kitchen had a dining table with 4 chairs, good-sized refrigerator, stove, sink and dishwasher. Everything was clean, well-maintained and nicely decorated. Lots of hot water in the shower (a priority for me) and very comfortable beds (another priority.) The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful, especially the afternoon guy that checked us in; great sense of humor and helpful advice.

The hotel is right off Hwy 25, in the middle of a shopping center, with numerous restaurants close by (we ate at Mimi's twice, once for late dinner and again for lunch. Food and service were adequate at best.) AND it's only about 4 miles from the Balloon Fiesta field; taking surface streets each morning kept us out of the worst of the traffic and made for a quick, easy trip.

Loved this hotel. Definitely will stay here on our next trip to ABQ.

When my parents and five siblings-plus one nephew-assembled in Albuquerque with destinations north, this Residence Inn was just the place for us. It was easy to find from the airport, close to a variety of restaurants (I didn't say "great restaurants"), and perfectly situated for our morning departure for breakfast in Bernalillo. The rooms were clean, new, spacious and ideal for multiple occupants.

We were a little disappointed in this Residence Inn, especially because we stayed at an extremely good Residence Inn just one week prior while in Rhode Island. The first problem (which is understandable) is that the property is currently undergoing renovations. This will be good for future stays in this property, but it wasn't as good for us due to the construction. Apparently, the renovations will be complete in August 2009. Second, much of the staff appeared to be young and rather immature. They were not nearly as friendly and responsive as staff of the previous Residence Inn where we stayed. We actually saw one of the young staff employees spinning donuts in his car out in the parking lot -- he almost hit other parked cars. Another young man and woman (both probably in their early 20s) on the staff spent a lot of time socializing together at the front desk. I almost felt as if I was interrupting when I asked a question. Last, the room was somewhat of a disappointment because one of the TV remotes did not work and the toilet seat was loose. Aside from these two discrepancies, the room was nice. However, we did not expect this at a Residence Inn. I would still recommend this property; however, it does not appear to meet the same high standards of other Residence Inns. Also, we stayed three nights, so we had ample time to evaluate this property.

We needed two bedroom family accomodations so that we could enjoy my daughter, her husband and our grandson. The rooms were clean and comfortable, perfect for our two night visit. We needed to stay North due to high school events at the Santa Ana Star Center which is several miles out of Bernalillo. PF Changs is just across the parking lot. Has easy access to I25N. We felt also that this was a safe location. We also recently stayed at the Hyatt Place at the Uptown area and felt at home and surrounded by restaurants and shopping, but for this trip the ocation was not north enough for us nor does Hyatt offer two bedroom accomodations and would have cost more for two rooms.

We stayed at this hotel for 9 nights during Balloon Fiesta and couldn't have been happier with our choice.

Any time we encountered a staff member they were very friendly, and helpful if we needed something. The room was clean and well-maintained, and the daily housekeeping was great - they even hand-washed some plastic cups that we left in the sink! The bed was very comfortable. The shower had good pressure and HOT water.

We didn't use the pool or exercise room (we got our exercise chasing balloons!) but they looked really nice, and were always clean.

Breakfast and the week-night snack were great. We took advantage of their service to provide snack items if you're out for the evening (they put it in your refrigerator if you let them know ahead of time that you won't be back at the hotel by 7pm). That was nice.

As a previous poster stated, the location is very convenient, with quite a few dining options within walking distance.

We noticed 'security' vehicles patrolling the area several times. There were stories of other hotel parking lot break-ins during Fiesta, but ours was not bothered - maybe because of the security?

Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel, and will stay there again.

I was pleasantly surprised with this hotel. The room rate was rather low so I wasn't expecting too much when I checked in. But everything was right. Friendly staff welcomed us. We had a nice spacious clean room and the kids loved the pool and playing basketball.
The hotel is located close to the interstate in a quiet area of mostly office buildings, but there is some restaurants nearby. The receptionist recommended Mimi's Cafe only a few minutes walk from the hotel. This family friendly restaurant was just great.
