“Shaky start, ended up quite nice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2012

I'd rate this good (not 'very good') or 3 1/2 stars if possible. We had a reservation for 4 nights. The website said some rooms have fridges and microwaves but no further explanation. When we checked I was very surprised that we were asked to pay for all 4 nights in advance! We were given a room that REEKED of cigarettes. I told the front desk and was shown another room. It had a slight odor - perhaps smoke or a fragrance covering it - but it was acceptable. This room was in a much nicer location too. Instead of opening to the parking lot, it was in a corner behind the pool. It also had a fridge and microwave which the first one did not! For a 4-night stay they should have given us this nicer room to begin with. I was pleased with the "upgrade" but unhappy they originally gave us the inferior room.

The room was big, the 2 queen beds were comfortable and the air-conditioning worked well and quietly. The wifi worked too. The towels were average-sized and soft enough. The room looked clean but I was unhappy to see hairs on the shower wall (ugh!) and wondered what else wasn't cleaned! This problem persisted - in 4 days the shower walls were never cleaned. I noticed a bulb out in the bathroom but the next day it had been replaced (without our asking).

The breakfast could hardly be more minimal. They had Raisin Bran and Cheerios with milk, a plate of little Danish and some bread; weak coffee and what tasted like fake orange juice (Sunny Delight or something?) and cheap apple juice.

The ice machine had a coin slot, but no sign of how to use it. When I asked the front desk, they turned it on with a key while I filled the ice bucket, then locked it again. I guess they're trying to control usage so people won't fill up their coolers.

We didn't use the pool, but it looked very clean. I saw the staff test and clean it daily.

The location was good for us and for the AAA-rate price we paid we felt we got good value for money, despite the minuses, .

Room Tip: A room in the pool area is a little more private, quieter. Ask about fridge/microwave if that's...

In my first review of the hotel I rated them a 1 rating but should have been a 4 rating. This hotel was a nice surprise for the price. Loved the people that worked there and wouldn't want this cause them any problems.

We arrived late and were unsure of the neighborhood. The very nice desk person gave us a room with two queen beds that was located away from parking and near the pool. The pool was closed. Room was pleasant. Beds were good. Very quite. The breakfast was a very basic cold continental. Hotel is very convenient to the hospital and within walking distance of a small cafe. Accepts pets.

Room Tip: Freeway noise may be a problem. Try to get the room directly behind the office.

Just perfect. Very convenient, especially if you're not driving. 66 bus stops right in front. Nearby Milton's Diner is open late, cheap, friendly, and casual. Hotel staff was super nice and very helpful with local tips. Warm, clean room, with amazingly comfy, huge bed. Great for fatties!! I even used the pool. It wasn't heated, oh well. Coffee, danishes, and cereal were very helpful in the morning. Walkable from the Greyhound/ Train station and very convenient for the airport. Airport bus stops nearby and/ or cab just jumps right onto I-25. This hotel is a wonderful, great value treat. Stop looking and book this place now!

Myself and my partner stayed here for a week whilst traveling around the states, for the price that we paid we were very happy with what we got. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was clean, comfortable and tidy. We stayed in a king size room with a fridge and microwave which was very comfortable and we were opposite a cute church. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel giving access to downtown or old town (bus number 66).
The only thing that i could say was wrong was that the hotel is next to a interstate, however this did not affect us in any way and we would definitely go back to this hotel.

Pros - rooms were clean and comfortable, staff were friendly. Very close to downtown.

Cons - they have a huge sign outside saying 'free high-speed wi-fi', but the internet was barely detectable, let alone usable, and not even almost 'high-speed'. The hotel next door and the restaurant three doors down were easier to connect to. I was woken up by cleaners on both nights I was there. Swimming pool was closed and covered, despite it being stinking hot.

Overall, it was okay.
