“We enjoyed our stay.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2011

We came to Albuquerque for a family party and this B and B was the closest to our destination. We rented the apartment to accommodate the 3 of us. It was very clean but a bit outdated. It had a kitchen with full refrig, microwave, breakfast bar, full separate living area with a futon and fireplace, a private bedroom w/ 2 queen beds and a dressing room. The bathroom was very small but adequate. I think that the owners are re-doing rooms and this is next on their list (other rooms that we saw were beautiful and recently re-done.).
The owners were very pleasant and helpful and the grounds were beautifully landscaped with a beautiful gardens and a koi pond. It was a wonderful place to sit and have morning coffee and relax in the evening. They serve a continental breakfast each day w/ waffles, bagels, pastries, fruit, juices and hot beverages.
I would recommend the Inn at Paradise. It was economical, clean with helpful staff and a beautiful setting. If you are up early, you also get to watch the golfers tee-off on the adjacent golf course.

Room Tip: Although there is no elevator, the 2nd floor has a beautiful view of the gardens and the golf course...

I loved this Inn! It has amazing gardens and a beautiful golf course setting that made coming home at the end of the day feel like we were headed to our own retreat. Our room had a fireplace in it which was totally unexpected and made us feel like we should have been paying much more. I couldn't believe this Inn cost the same as the cheap chain hotels that we normally stay at, it was a great find for us and we will always go back!

The owners are great and really work hard to make sure you have everything you need. I enjoyed the breakfasts and hanging out with the other guests having a glass of wine in the beautiful garden in the evenings. The rooms are simple but they are big and clean. Great location and a great price for a bed and breakfast.

We stayed at the Inn at Paradise for the Balloon Fiesta. The couple next to us were pilots who have been staying there for 15 years! It is reasonably priced and very homey. All the rooms face onto beautifully maintained gardens and the golf course with lots of outdoor seating. The "conference room" has breakfast fixings and a community computer w/printer (handy for printing boarding passes). The couple who run the Inn are very attentive and the Inn dog is a honey. An ideal location for family reunions or wedding parties. A delightful and unassuming retreat.

We and another couple stayed here several nights during the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta last fall. During the fiesta, hotels bump up their prices tremendously, and we did not want to pay a lot for our hotel room. We also wanted to be in the northern part of the city, to make it easier to get to the fiesta early in the morning. (Traffic can be bad during the event!) The other couple was pretty unhappy with my choice of accomodations, but we found them adequate. The rooms are small and very, very modest, and the B&B is not very accessible to people with mobility issues. (Before we came, the owner described the accomodations as suitable for someone with a mobility scooter, but they really are not.)

First, the good things aboutthe Inn at Paradise: For fiesta, the room rates are very reasonable, and the location is good. The Inn also has a beautiful garden (picture on their web site - would be perfect for a wedding!) and does provide continental breakfast in a room to the side of the "inn." There's also a club house restaurant pretty close to the inn where you can eat breakfast and lunch (maybe dinner, too, but we only had breakfast.) Staying on the golf course is kind of fun, even if you're not a golfer, and it's definitely more peaceful to wake up on a golf course than it is in a hotel on an interstate! I am always looking for a place to stay that's a little different, and the Inn IS different! Other small plusses are that there's a computer in the breakfast room that guests can use, and a resident dog, which I enjoyed!.

The bad things are that if you're expecting a typical, beautifully-furnished bed and breakfast, with a sumptious breakfast, you'll be disappointed. This is really more of a small, informal motel on a golf course in suburbia. If you are in a scooter or wheelchair, it is not suitable for you, as there are a few steps to navigate to get to where the rooms are located from the entrance, and the breakfast room. The owner tried to make it better for our handicapped friend by placing a plywood board over the steps, but our friend felt a bit afraid of using it due to its instability.

I guess the bottom line is that if you're just looking for a reasonable place to stay in northern Albuquerque, this place may be perfect for you. Be aware, however, that during fiesta, rmany hotels/B&B's don't allow cancellations, so if there's any chance you might want to switch hotels or leave early, I'd clarify the cancellation policy and get it in writing. We really had to struggle to check out early without sacrificing our money, even though the other couple had accessibility issues. I notice that now the policy is clear on the web site, so this should not be a problem, but I felt I should mention it, as Fiesta is a really, really big deal for Albuquerque innkeepers/hotel/motel owners (and an absolutely WONDERFUL event!!), so choose your accomodations carefully!

Thsi is ideal for groups. The patios have couches and chairs. The price is well worth it. The large common room is where the breakfast is served. The couple that run the inn are great and will do what ever you need. The patio overlooks a great garden and the first tee of Desert Greengolf course.
