A late lunch for our 51st Wedding Anniversary at the Nexus Brewery. The house specialty is the Waffles and Fried Chicken, but when we saw the New Orleans' offerings, we couldn't resist: Red Beans and Rice with Andouille Sausage and Chicken Gumbo. The Andouille was really spicy...yes! My husband added the on-the-table Louisiana Hot Sauce to the gumbo to give it an extra kick. Both were just great and filling! There was a nice variety of beer. I had the White Ale, a light, citrus kiss without after taste. My husband had a hardy Amber. The service was right-on, courteous, friendly and knowledgable. Had bread pudding that was New Orleans all the way. We really enjoyed this experience and found that it is just off a well used bike path. Plenty of good food, beer and staff; didn't eat the rest of the day! And, there's an outside patio, once the weather improves, they'll have our business. We could see at least 3 TVs so could keep up with the golf, NASCAR and combine. Guess Romance is in the eyes of the beholder :-) We loved it.
