We tried this restaurant on my suggestion and I really wanted to like it. Possibly the dishes we tried were just not to our liking. The Sushi was delicious- Tempura California Roll and Spicy Mix Tuna Roll. The seaweed cabbage salad with miso dressing was also fantastic. I also loved the fact that hot green tea was free and that Japanese dining etiquette was printed on the menu- this was educational. I had Unatama-don, which is eel cooked in soy sauce with egg. The rice was tasty, but the eel and egg were not to my liking. Only having the candied ginger with the eel made it palatable. Also the Chicken Kara-age: deep fried marinated chicken in spicy hot sauce was not good.
We were initially very impressed with the fact that a table full of 60-70 y/o Japanese women had chosen this place for lunch. Obviously they know good Japanese food. I think that we just made some new and daring selections that were not very good. This restaurant is very small and the service was good.
