We've stayed at a number of different hotels over the years in Albuquerque, usually for a night or two on the way to Santa Fe. Most have left something to be desired. Hotel Parq Central changes the game for us - I can't imagine staying anywhere else in ABQ after our two nights there. The hotel is a renovation of the old Santa Fe Hospital, built in the 1920s. It combines the best of modern amenities with touches of the past to create a truly unique space. The rooms are sleek, in neutral colors, but very comfortable. There are antique-looking lighting fixtures throughout the hotel and cases filled with memorabilia that recall its past. I have to say that the bed provided probably the best two night's sleep I've had in a hotel in ages.
While there is no restaurant on site, they do offer a complimentary breakfast buffet that is quite good (quiche, decent pastries, fruit, etc.), and there's a lovely lounge on the fourth floor, open evenings, with some food options and nice views of the city. But given the location, you can easily walk to several good restaurants, and anything you could possibly want is just a mile or two away. There is a nice back patio area which is probably very pleasant in the warm weather and a 24-hour outdoor Jacuzzi. The staff is young and they really seem to enjoy being helpful.
You won't be disappointed in the Hotel Parq Central. I've stayed in hotels from New York City to Los Angeles and everywhere in between in the last couple of years, and this place moves to the top of my "favorites" list. It provides an outstanding value for the money. We're looking forward to our next stay.
