“Clean, Modern and Convenient.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2011

This is one of the area's newer boutique hotels, larger than most, but very well done with a good use of space, well appointed guest rooms which include a modern and spacious bath suite. Hallways are wide and brightly lit as is the Lobby Area on the main floor. Parking is convenient and free and the location makes it easy to walk down the street to several good hotels for lunch or dinner.

Room Tip: Take the suite upgrade for $10 if it is offered, or ask if it is available.

This is an amazing renovation of an old hospital - new so spotless and with amenties in tact.

But the highlight is the staff. Young and very enthusiastic and very helpful.

Albuquerque sprawls so the availability of a hotel car to take you almost anywhere -- and pick you up - (Leah and Gabe as great drivers) is a godsend.

The bar (Alex) is fun and with great views of the not so great city.

Take the trolley tour (if you're a tourist) to see what there is (not) to see!

With all my reservations about Albuquerque, I cannot imagine a better hotel. (Don't be seduced by proximity to Old Town: a four block tourist trap of little historic interest. Go to Santa Fe!!

Dear rickywheels,

Thank you for sharing your recent experience at Hotel Parq Central. We are so glad that you enjoy the renovation of our building and found the property to be clean. Our staff is very enthusiastic about offering the best hospitality to each guest and driving the shuttle is great because it allows us time to get to know our guests. We are glad you had fun at the Apothecary lounge and enjoyed the view from the rooftop. The trolley tour is a really fun way to spend an hour seeing parts of Albuquerque and we are happy that you also were able to spend some time in Santa Fe.

We appreciate your review and we look forward to seeing you next time you are in New Mexico!

All the best,

Noelle Wallace

My wife and I stayed in the Parq Central for one night before catching a flight the next morning. We had booked online from the UK, which was easy and efficient, and check in was polite and welcoming, and worked like clockwork. We found the room very clean and comfortable, probably more or less as we expected, and convenient, about 10-15 minutes from the airport. The hotel is in an interesting building which used to be a hospital.

However what lifted our rating from 'Very Good' to 'Excellent' was the outstanding service we received. On arriving I had to go to the airport to drop off a hire car to save time the next morning. I fully expected to get a taxi back. When I asked about directions at the front desk they unhesitatingly offered to send a courtesy to pick me up, and when there was a muddle (which was my fault) about where to meet the bus they took the trouble to search around the airport to find me. It was by any standards outstanding service, and we were not at all surprised when the next morning a courtesy bus was waiting bang on time to take us to our flight.

The hotel does not have a restaurant, but it does have a delightful terrace bar which serves good light meals.

VERY warmly recommended.

Dear Chimp_Watcher,

Thank you for taking the time to write a review of your recent stay with us at Hotel Parq Central. We are so glad that you spent the evening with us before catching a flight; it makes for a far more relaxed trip when you can wake up just minutes from the airport. We are glad that your room met your expectations and that your check in went well. We are thrilled that our customer service exceeded your expectations! The shuttle service is something we enjoy offering to our guests, especially if it made catching your morning fight easier. The terrace bar does offer light meals and we hope your meal was accompanied by a beautiful New Mexico sunset.

We sincerely appreciate the warm recommendation and kind words. We hope to see you next time you are in Albuquerque!

All the best,

Noelle Wallace

If what you want is the standard impersonal, rude, cold, big-box hotel stay - then move on down the road, because you won't find it here. From the lovely young woman who walked me to my room the first night, to the front desk clerk who said he was sorry to see me go on the last, every staff member was thoughtful, warm, friendly and so courteous, I hated going to my business meetings at the Hyatt. And the hotel? Beautiful. An 85 year old "railroad hospital" redesigned as a boutique hotel that's "one year and 24 days old" I was told. It's a period piece that delights at every turn. Whimsical displays, warm colors, spotless rooms. I wouldn't bother staying anywhere else in Albuquerque. Unless you really, really want that big-chain hotel experience...

The hotel is very new and clean. As soon as we arrived to the lobby, we went "YES!". Our room was the 2nd floor on the west wing. We totally didn't know about the history of this building until we saw hallway exhibits from old hospital. Room has good size and big window brings good light. Yes, it is VERY clean. Lobby staffs are polite and courteous. Courtyard is beautiful that it is perfect for a small but romantic wedding. This hotel also has fabulous roof top bar and you can see Albuquerque night view and sunset. Breakfast is awesome! Unbelievably courteous staffs host you for every needs and menu variety is very good. Is this hotel haunted? Let me put this way. My mother and husband and I all slept very well on their comfortable beds. I didn't see or feel anything unusual, but I never do anyway. On the other hand, my mother and husband both felt something special. You to figure what that is.

Dear masamomo,

Thank you for sharing your recent experience at Hotel Parq Central. We are delighted that you were excited to stay with us from the moment you entered the lobby. We are glad that you enjoyed the historic merit of the building and had time to look at the hallway displays. We are also glad that you found the hotel to be clean and the staff to be courteous; we feel these are both important aspects of hospitality. The courtyard, especially this time of year, is a great spot to relax and make conversation and we have hosted several small, romantic and beautiful weddings. The view from the rooftop in the evening is lovely and we hope you enjoyed a handcrafted libation while watching the sunset. Breakfast is a wonderful opportunity for us to connect with our guests and we are happy that you enjoyed the menu and service each morning of your stay. We are glad that your beds were comfortable and we hope your mother and husband enjoyed their experience as well!

We look forward to seeing you again soon and thank you for taking the time to write a review!

The customer service at the Hotel Parq Central is fantastic. The quaintness and cleanliness of the boutique hotel was perfect! We stayed for a few nights during the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta and truly enjoyed ourselves. We had a lovely room facing the fountain and could not even tell that we were so close to the highway. The food at the restaurant was delicious and drinks in the penthouse bar were incredible! It doesn't happen often that you receive such fine service and beautiful accommodations at a reasonable rate.......we are looking forward to our next trip!

Room Tip: Facing the fountain. You an keep windows open at night and hear the sound of soft music....lovely!

This place is stunning. Excellent in every area.

The service from every staff member was perfect. Everyone was happy, professional, and accommodating. I felt like a guest. Understand they're really new, normally that means a few hiccups as things get sorted out. When I checked in, the front desk couldn't find my reservation, but it was not their fault (it was an error by the person that booked it for me). Rather than make me stand around and wait, the desk clerk just gave me a room. Excellent customer service!

Fourth floor bar/restaurant is beautiful with a fantastic sunset view. Menu was limited but excellent, and the bartender was an expert. Evidently, they do weddings up there, which would be awesome.

My room decor was very modern. I've stayed in a couple other Abq. hotels (and I lived there in the 90s) - this is by far the best in town.

I see a couple bad reviews about not parking someone's RV (?!?) and someone else had a reservation glitch. All I can say is that my experience was 5-star. I'll be back and I'll bring friends.
