If you plan to purchase turuoise, unless you are an experienced buyer, visit this museum. If you like turquoise, visit this museum. It is located in an unassuming storefront and doesn't look like what you'd expect. But it holds an absolutely amazing collection of rough, cabochons, and jewelry, representing over 100 mines, most from the US. The educational section of the museum is very detailed and I highly recommend spending time here, too. Even if you are not a collector, learning about treatments, imitations, settings, mining, and history is fun here! I've been to a lot of useums in the US, and have never seen a turquoise collection like this. How marvelous that this family has made thier collection available ot the public. It's a great way for a turquoise addict to spend a few hours!
