“Great value, great service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 20, 2010

We stayed here originally because of the location. But not only was it convenient to the Amtrak station and airport but the hotel was an excellent value. The rooms were very clean, the entire staff was very helpful and the shuttle service was excellent.

Hawthorn Suites had everything I wanted - a clean, quiet room to sleep in and a good breakfast in the morning. Our room had included a "wet bar" so we had a refrigerator and microwave, which came in handy. Staff was helpfull. Would definetely stay again.

this is a nice clean comfortable hotel. The check in was fine but the desk clerk not to friendly,I found that to be true during my stay. Some clerks were great others not so good. They have a small restaurant in lobby, the guy who works in there is very good and helpful. The breakfast is ok,sometimes they are slow at filling the coffee and silverware. The Wed. night reception was just ok,no free drinks like some hotels.

The main problems are the cleaning staff does not speak English. Then some times there is hot water in the morning.

The hotel is in a good location for getting around. They have one computer in the lobby for guest to use.

We expected more from the Wyndham name. Hotel is a bit tired, a bit old. Could use a renovation, especially of rooms. Nicks, tears, scratches, and holes found everywhere. Breakfast bar is terribly unappealing, cold hash browns, cold eggs, cold "hot" water for tea, and no real milk to be found anywhere - only powdered milk, yuk! Service was good, front desk folks very nice. Beds comfortable but pillows not so much. Heater/AC unit worked well. Internet connection was good. Microwave was tiny but worked fine. Ordered pizza from recommended vendor and it was delicious! Didn't use pool so can't comment. Location was good, but numerous other hotels nearby, maybe better value for money - but then again our room was ONLY $55.00 a night.

We stayed two nights at this hotel during a weeklong trip, going and coming back. It has easy access to the freeway, the university, many restaurants, shopping and grocery store. The hotel was in good shape with a little wear. The room was clean, well maintained and quiet. The staff was friendly and helpful. My wife and I enjoyed the good equipment and flat screen TV in the exercise room. I used the business center computer without a problem but was unable to get my laptop wireless connection to work despite connecting quickly and having a strong signal in my room. We enjoyed the breakfast with a nice selection hot waffles, hashbrown potatoes, eggs, eggs with ham, cereal, milk, apple and orange juice, toast, coffee & tea selection, toast, oatmeal, fresh fruit, etc. For the price this hotel was a very good value. I recommend it and would stay again.

The stay was good with a couple of minor infractions. The first was the bartender: no personality or sense of humor at all. Not friendly in the least. If he worked for me, he would be gone after a day or two.
Also, no forks available for breakfast. Had to eat biscuits and gravy with a spoon!
