“A Must”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2012

The National Museum of Nuclear Science & History is a must see when visiting Albuquerque. It is a wonderful resource for tracing the development of the United States nuclear weapons. It was moved into new quarters a couple of years ago which further enhances the experience.

“New Modern Museum in Albuquerque”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2012

The National Museum of Nuclear Science & History, located in Albuquerque, New Mexico, is the nation’s only congressionally chartered museum in its field.

We visited this excellent museum in October of 2012 ... it is great place for adults and children alike to learn the story of the Atomic Age, from early research of nuclear development through today’s peaceful uses of nuclear technology. The Museum is a Smithsonian Affiliate member.

While the museum is several years old, the building is very new and modern, with ample parking and facilities.

For those of us with an interest in the history of aviation, the museum's 5-acre outdoor Heritage Park is one of the highlights of the museum. Several aircraft are on display, including the B-29 Superfortress "Duke of Albuquerque", a B-52 Stratofortress, F-105 Thunderchief, A-7 Corsair and others. In addition, the Heritage Park includes a variety of missiles, bombs and other artifacts of the atomic age.

Parking is free, and there is a nominal admittance fee.

“its like being a kid again”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2012

i had a chance to go see this with my little brother and sister who are much younger than myself. they were fascinated. the museum had a grouping of old films from the 1930s and 1940s. it was nice to see how they took it in. i forget that we pass to them a legacy of memories and time. then we had a chance to see many items from the atomic age. and lets not forget the planes. they actually have an enola gay bomber, and a B-52 on site. very neat. would definitely bring family and kids. enjoy
