“Best room for the money”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2013

We had a most pleasant experience at this inn. We were a little concerned by the neighbor hood but what a surprise package it was. The innkeeper was absolutely concerned that everything was perfect and that all our needs were met, these were met in every way. The room was exceptionally clean and well decorated. The breakfast buffet met all of our expectations, the waffles were really light and excellent.

We booked here based on good reviews in TA and Booking.com, and would find it hard to find anything to be critical about. The lady who runs the place is wonderful and a human dynamo...she is everywhere, and all hours of the day. The place is recently rehabbed, and the grounds and rooms are excellent. Our king room was very large, with a great bed, an easy chair and a table with two chairs for eating, cards, games. etc. The place was spotlessly clean, quiet, and secure. It is about 3 miles off I-40 and a 1.5 miles from Old Town. The is complementary breakfast with waffles, cereal, fruit, yogurt, breads, muffins, juice and coffee. No breakfast meat...perhaps the only criticism we could muster.

I have no problem with this motel, but I don't get why it's raved about so much, & ranked #2 in all of Albuquerque. It was fine, but not as spectacular as it's made out. Everything was okay, but just okay, nothing special. The deadbolt on the door had some issues which was a bit worrying, but with a bit of pushing it down, it ended up working. It's good value for the price it is.

I wasn't quite sure what to think when we drove up, given the low-end commercial neighborhood and the eclectic look of the place. However, I was then greeted by the very cheery and chatty Indian couple that run the place, and I to began to have more confidence. The room was very clean and orderly, although kind of funky Southwestern. Bed was OK, but pillows a little hard. Breakfast was basic but OK. All in all, a comfortable stay and a good value.

On historic Route 66, this motel will not put you in the center of town. However! If you want cute, extremely clean rooms, friendly and personal service, and a very reasonable price, it's more than worth it. Close and convenient to 40 if you are just passing through. The neighborhood is a mix of closed and open businesses, so it's not the most happening, but the Sandia feels like a ray of sunshine on the block. Welcoming sunshine. I'd stay again.

As others have noted, the facility is older and basic. But it has a laundry, a pool, fresh fruit, rooms with comfortable beds, functional air-conditioners, refrigerators and microwaves. And it was all very clean. Then there's the staff that attend to every request quickly and with a smile. When my TV didn't seem to be working, someone came to address it immediately. While he was there, another guest had a problem. The owner/manager came to tell him about it so that he could go there directly rather than lose time going back to the office. I didn't really use the pool but because I only eat fresh fruit and yogurt for breakfast, a place like this with good fresh fruit and yogurt is great for me!

I didn't have any problem with the neighborhood and found it located well for visiting all different parts of Albuquerque. I'll absolutely stay here again if I am in the area!

This is a really neat mom and pop motel on Central Avenue which makes it convenient to several areas of town. It's an older property but our large room was clean and up to date with a large bathroom. A Very friendly lady welcomed us and assured us we could reach her 24/7 and to let her know if we needed anything. A decent breakfast was included....waffles, hard boiled eggs, cold cereals, freshly cut watermelon and cantaloupe along with some breads and pastries. And the price was so right...about $55.00 for two of us including tax. We ended up staying two nights instead of just one as originally planned.

Room Tip: Bottom floor more convenient for us.
