“Great place to spend a night”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 13, 2013

We are traveling thru Albuquerque and spending the night here. Room is spacious, well decorated and everything works. Connection to the internet was a snap. The pool was warm and we had it to ourselves. The front desk staff was very welcoming and answered our questions about the area. If I listened carefully, I understood her perfectly. We would definitely stay here on a return trip to Albuquerque.

“Great for the price!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2013

Great friendly staff, clean room, no problems. Perfect for a one night passing through town at a great price. No road noise and didn't hear any of our neighbors.

Brightly lit parking lot made us feel safe in a dodgy part of town.

Again, great staff!

“"A" for effort!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed February 6, 2013

Guess it was just bad luck. I will have to admit they tried. Was looking for a place for wife to stay while I needed a hospital stay. We wanted to check this out because of the reviews. I was a little worried about location since I had lived in Albuquerque in the past. It is nice and clean, updated and fresh. The location is good if you mean centrally located. If you mean safe secure location that would be a stretch. The parking lot was well lit and had security cameras. Internet was virtually non existent. We complained from the moment we checked in. They tried and tried but couldn't over come the poor connection. Even gave us an ethernet cable but It didn't seem to be connected on the other end. Resigned ourselves to the great looking flat screen TV. It was great only we had to channel surf constantly because of the lack of a channel guide in the room. The owners should realize travelers can't use the same channels from back home. A simple guide would be great. Awoke early the next morning to discover no coffee in the room. Called front desk but no one answered. No one had answered the front desk phone the night before and I had to trek over in person during the wi-fi problem. 6am I have to trudge over to get coffee packets. The owner did offer to open the breakfast area up early for us to eat but we declined. Honestly we were fed up and just wanted to go somewhere else. Another issue I forgot to mention was the heater started up like a helicopter till it reached full speed. Whup, whup, whup whirr, finally shut if off at 4am. Maybe it was the "bad luck room."
Owner was extremely apologetic but more effort should be put into a customers stay before not after a stay. She even suggested we could have been put in another room last night (?) but were not?

Room Tip: Avoid room 109 like the plague.

“Good value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 30, 2013

Stayed here on our run through Albuquerque. I was surprised that the front desk was enclosed. (Like I was going to a gas station in a bad area) That made me wonder about the area a little. However, the lady (owner) was friendly and the exterior of the motel was very well maintained. It looked fresh. You can tell they take a lot of pride in there work if even the parking lot is clean.
Our room was clean and comfortable, and smelled like cleaners. (Not in an unpleasant way, more of a freshly laundered smell) There was also a washer and dryer on site, that was well worth it after a few days driving and changing clothes.
Yes the pool was small, but it was cool and refreshing and my daughter loved it.
We didn't have any problems with the area and we walked across the street to the restaurant to eat.
The only negative was that there was some sort of fight/screaming fit going on outside our room between another guest. (Totally not the motel's fault) It was a little disturbing, but the owner came out immediately and told them to either settle down or she would get the authorities. We didn't hear another peep all night.

As for the other comments about the front desk people barely speaking English. I don't know who they came into contact with, but I know the owner we spoke with had a heavy accent. That doesn't mean she doesn't speak English. If the people who own it are willing to take a chance on a property, keep it up this well, put this much time and devotion into it, and are as friendly as this one, I'm willing to take my time to stop or ask her to repeat herself if I didn't hear it instead of writing it off as bad service. It's not a fault, it's just a new experience.
