“Must See”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2014

We gave ourselves 90 minutes to spend her, but could easily have taken an hour more. There is much to see and enjoy. Many of the snakes were active while we were there, which was great fun as well. This is well worth the money!

“Just go!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 22, 2014

I really have no interest in snakes, but my adult daughter loves them. So, I felt compelled to visit in her honor. This is yet another of those Albuquerque oddities that makes you want to return to the town. The owner is a former high school biology teacher who could not be more pleasant. He even delayed his dinner date so that we could see the snakes. Best of all, from my perspective, was the video that showed the discovery of vertebrate fossils some 60 million years old. Some of these indicated a snake almost 50" long ---- amazing! As it turned out, I could have spent muh longer there and will return next time.

“This place is awesome!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2014

If you like quirky, local gems, this is your place. At only $5 you can't beat the price. The first room you enter is a cluttered gift shop and for your $5 you get a certificate of bravery that allows you to enter the snake museum. The clutter continues including random things for sale, lots of cardboard boxes and other things that don't seem to fit. Tucked amongst the clutter are really beautiful displays of snakes, turtles and other things that crawl that are really interesting. The animals appear to be healthy and well cared for and there are dozens of species to look at. I really enjoyed the museum and would highly recommend. If you have little kids that like to grab stuff, be on guard becuase there is a lot of "stuff" they could get into.

“Snake trap.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2013

We went based on the online reviews and were not disappointed. My youngest kept grabbing every toy snake scattered around the place and placing them ready for us to walk into, with one even finding a.home on my shoulder - I hate snakes! We had fun and learned a lot.

“Lots of Sizzle”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 6, 2013

This is one of those gems run by a renaissance type who knows something about everything and passes on his enthusiasm and zest for learning. This museum looks like you need only spend ten minutes due to size; but you end up spending over an hour due to its density, variety and just plain fun.

It is located on one of the streets cartwheeling from the Old Town Square and is a must see regardless of your age. Little kids love it, of course. Who wouldn't with all that tamed terror. But oldsters also should enjoy it…reminds you of the old rattlesnake farms that dotted Route 66 in the bad old days.
