“good room but ...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 29, 2010

we reached there 11pm and asked for room, the reception guy was not friendly at all, without any smile or welcome. beside that the room was fine and we didn't noticed anything bad in one night stay there.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2010

We expected a lot from this hotel even before we arrived. We had received a welcoming confirmation email that helped us decide to extend our stay from 2 to 4 nights. That was quickly taken care of for us via email. We were warmly welcomed on our arrival and the manager stopped by to chat with us and the other guests at breakfast the next morning. She restated what the email had said, "If you need anything, let us know."

The hotel was up to the standards we had come to expect from Hilton Garden Inns. The room was nicely furnished, we had plentiful amenities of high quality, and breakfast, free with our Hilton status, was very good. The location of the hotel was convenient to the airport and the interstates and it was easy to get wherever we wanted to go.

There were two things that prevented a 5 star rating for the hotel. First, our room on the highway side was pretty noisy. We never heard hotel noise even though we were near the elevator, but the highway noise was fairly constant. Second the security guards were there not only at night but also in the afternoons. We were not sure if we should feel safer because they were there or worried because they felt they were necessary. The area seemed quite nice to us and we did not feel at all unsafe.

We had a great stay and will certainly choose this hotel the next time we come to Albuquerque.

I stayed here 2 seperate weeks in October and had a great stay overall. The property is updated, the staff helpful, and the room is nice and comfortable. It is all exactly what I expect to get at a Hilton Garden Inn. I ate room service twice and it was quite tasty. I also really enjoyed the breakfast that is offered (a step up from typical continental). The wi-fi worked great and I appreciated the many places to plug in my laptop.

The only room for improvement in my opinion would be - a bigger fitness center (existing only has 3 machines and some free weights so it got filled up quickly) and better HVAC (it went on an off constantly no matter how I set it and was borderline loud so woke me up a few times).

Arrived at hotel at 1:30 pm to check in, and requested room on certain side of building. We were told that the rooms were pre-assigned, and clerk named Erica, refused to accomidate us. She said no rooms were available. Called manager, left message, and she did not return our call. Returned to desk at 8:00pm, and the assistant mgr. on duty, was more than happy to change our room.

This hotel is in one of the best locations in Albuquerque. It is in a nice shopping district that has plent of great restaurants and convenience stores that are just a few minutes away from the hotel. There is a Trader Joe's that is perfect for an extended stay at a hotel if you get tired of eating out every day. It is close to the interstate, but I never heard any of the noise from traffic. In fact, since I'm from out of town it actually made it easier to find my hotel if I got turned around! My room was on the opposite side of the interstate and it was nice to see the view of the mountains as the sun went down.
The staff is very great, even for a Garden Inn. I spent six nights here and I never felt claustrophobic in the hotel room (which says a lot).
Again, I highly recommend this hotel.

Great hotel! We requested a quiet room and actually got it! Good location. Hotel is near highway access and within walking distance of casual, nice casual and at least one upscale steak restaurants. Near upscale outside mall, which includes the steak restaurant, and one indoor mall. As regards the hotel itself, the room was spacious, clean, with nice decor and bedding. Personnel are friendly and helpful.

We often pick our road stops based on highway access (after checking this site of course) and this HGI was a great choice. This is a newer property, about 7 stories, in an excellent location, right off highway 40, and a short walk at the light to an upscale retail and restaurant area. We saw TraderJoe's, Dillards, Starbucks, etc, and stopped at the bookstore. Lots of open parking. Room is basic HGI with wonderful sleep system beds. Dining is available in the lobby. We were even given a Hilton Honors Point Incentive to dine plus a dollars off coupon, so we felt compelled to take up these generous offers and dine in the pleasant and quiet dining area. After a long day on the road, we opted for the dinner menu and enjoyed fresh salads (on a Sunday night in Albuquerque!) and a large burger with fresh fruit side. Menu features Southwestern; choices are hearty! (I do wish these restaurants would offer light vegetarian fare to compensate for sitting in the car all day!) Breakfast is hot, cooked to order, looked big and was all-inclusive at $11.95. There is not really a continental option for the cereal eaters, which would be my preference. We have encountered this hot breakfast plan a few times now in New Mexico and would like an option other than room service. Complimentary coffee was available in the lobby. As usual with HGI, a friendly and professional staff greeted us!
