The Petroglyph National Monument, a short drive from Albuquerque, NM, is a worthwhile side trip. After stopping at the visitor's center, we proceeded to the area where the petroglyphs are. There are very few parking places available, which under normal circumstances, would be enough. However, we visited during the Balloon Fiesta, and every parking place was filled. After a patient wait, we parked, then took a moderate walk to see the drawings. It certainly was worth it. Don't miss this sncient treasure when visiting Albuquerque!
