“Good Lunch Stop in Petersburg”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2013

We were passing through Petersburg on our way home to New England. The Bistro is a charming place filled with mismatched antiques and furniture, and modern paintings of celebrities. The service was friendly and the food very good. My wife had a very good hamburger with an artichoke sauce. I had perfectly cooked sea scallops served with a warm red potato salad. We shared a slice of very good toasted coconut cake for desert. One of the nicest things was meeting a woman and her mother who were incredibly charming. The mother was one of the first Afro-American women internists in the country. We had a lovely talk and they invited us to a gospel concert at their local church near the Bistro. Unfortunately we had to get on with our trip. A wonderful experience!

“We stop her every time we pass through”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2013

On our yearly trip from FL back north we always plan our trip so that we can stop off here. Great food and service. The wine list could use some updating but this is still a special place and wish we could get here more often. The décor alone makes it special too.

“Once Again fantastic!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2013

Second time here - once again did not disappoint. Featured special was the Pork tenderloin, with the Chef's mothers recipe spoon bread. What a treat fork tender to cut, perfect spoon bread and smashed potatoes and green beans YUMMY. Also had the crab cakes (again) and once again they were delicious, with corn pudding just made the meal.
Russ owner/chef stopped by our table and recalled where we were from and what I did for a living. This is our second visit in two years. What a pleasure to dine at. Highly recommend to anyone when in the area!

“Very Happy!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2013 via mobile

Attended a meeting here, which occured over lunch, with a large group. Had the crabcake sandwich and fresh fruit. The sammy was delicious, with an excellent remoulade, however, the fresh fruit was the star! Awesome ripe pineapple, strawberries, kiwi, apples, and blackberries- amazing quality! Russ and his mother are so gracious, and the decor of the dining area almost makes you feel that you are being entertained in their home.

“Too many flavors!!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 2, 2013

The Old town Petersburg area needs more upscale restaurants. However this place is an example of overtrying and misguided food choices. why would I want brie AND onions on everything? I tried to find something without brie, the salmon I chose was overcooked and overseasoned. The service was thoughtful and the ambience was attractive but overdone ..These guys can do a better job thye just have to remember less is more
