“A visit to Old Brownsville”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2014 via mobile

The building is worth the visit. The architecture has been preserved and is restored beautifully. Visit the creepy bedroom, the old wood burning train engine, and relive the battlefield at Palo Alto.

“Old train station”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2014

The museum is quite small, but does have a few interesting things. The old train engine from the 1800's, has been restored, and was worth seeing. There is a $2.00 charge to get it. The museum could use some money and a little TLC to make it better.

“Brownsville History in old Southern Pacific station”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2013

the station building is worth the visit - and on top of that, you get interesting displays of artifacts of early Brownsville and an easy to understand chronology of this fascinating city. When we were there, there was an excellent show of needle work by the area chapter of the Embroidery Guild of America and also a show of artwork made from found plastic beach debris being hung to open the next day. All for a ridiculously low admission charge.

“Great way to begin to understand the history of Brownsville.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2013

This small museum is in a good way to begin to understand the history of Brownsville. Close the zoo, theatre, art museum and a nice park, this museum can be a good addition to a visit to Brownsville. This might be a great place for people who are studying history who are looking for a relaxed, slower environment. Housed in a beautiful and historic train station.
