Texas Roadhouse doesn't claim to be fancy, quiet or elegant--it's rowdy, peanut shells litter the floor, and you may have to shout to be heard across the table at times, but the food is amazingly good and very reasonably priced. The menu runs the gamut from hand-cut steaks, ribs, chicken to "road kill"--chopped steak, salads, pork chops. There is something for everyone here. I highly recommend the small Dallas filet, baked sweet potatoes (without the goopy stuff they will always try to talk you into), and the house salad. Salad dressings are made from scratch in house, as are the wonderful hot rolls with cinnamon butter. Service is inconsistent, but the staff is energetic if inexperienced. I have never had a bad meal at Brownsville's Texas Roadhouse.
