The first thing you have to realize is that this hotel was built in 1970. Having said that, it really is a very nice property. They have renovated the hotel throughout the years and the fact that you have two vanities, one in the bathroom and one out, helps in terms of freshening up and getting out. We used the fridge and it was nice to have the microwave in case we wanted some popcorn or a hot snack. We made coffee in the room and each of us went down for the modest continental breakfast which consists of cereal, danishes, toast, coffee, juice, and complimentary newspaper. You can't beat the location or the view. We stayed on the 5th floor in a Bayview room which is the front of the hotel facing the bay. The view was beautiful. The front desk was not open when we arrived at 4pm but check-in at the coffee house window was seamless. We had to pay for parking and pet fee for our mini beagle but overall I'd have to say this is a decent hotel. From the reviews on this and other hotels in Corpus it seemed that there was not a good hotel for under $200 but at this one, our stay was enjoyable.
