REALLY CLEAN,COURTEOUS, PEACEFUL STAY . Had a great view of the pool and accessible to everything. Only two bad things were the smokers who throw cigarette butts out their windows and parking. After 8pm your on your own if you move. But wht should you all the bars and restaurants are downtown...awesome!!!!

We stayed at this hotel in March of 06 with an 11 year old and 13 year old, and no one was impressed. The only thing this hotel had going for it was the view of the marina. The beds were lumpy and uncomfortable...no one slept well. We were on the 2nd floor and apparently the dumpsters were right next to our room. They would come take the trash around 6:30 am every morning, so we would wake up at that time to the horrible noise. The continental breakfast wasn't bad. This hotel is in bad need of a renovation...it looks like it hasn't be updated / painted in 15 years.

The hotel is undergoing major renovation which is not a problem or inconvenience. We stayed in a newly remodeled room on the 7th floor. The room was nice but does not look new. The paint on the bathroom wall was already flaking off. The beds were comfortable and the room was very clean. The patio is only large enough to stand on, not big enough for a chair. The view is ok but minimal as the hotel rooms are on the sides, not directly facing the water. The hotel is between two major streets and the traffic noise is loud. The staff was friendly and eager to please. The breakfast had lots of choices including cereals, bagels, muffins, biscuits and gravy and small round pre-formed scrambled eggs. Woud I stay again? Probably not since there are so many other choices in the area.

Hotel was fine for the price. We got a good deal on our room and they allowed pets. The hotel is badly in need of an upgrade – it has obviously seen better days. However, from the looks of it – most of the hotels in the area are in the same condition. The Omni Hotel down the street was beautiful but it was also more then $300/night the weekend we stayed in Corpus. So for the deal we got on the Best Western – I would say it was worth it. The rooms were clean, not fancy but clean. The staff was very pleasant. There was a continental breakfast each morning – muffins and fruit. The pool on the 2nd floor was fine and I think they had a gym, though we never made it there.

The location was very convenient – we were within 1 ½ miles of both the USS Lexington and the Corpus Christi Beach. The North Padre Island beach is only about 25 minutes away. There are several area restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. If you get a chance, eat at Pier 99 near the Lexington. Great place to relax and the food was very good – especially for the price.

If you are looking for a romantic, relaxing hotel – this isn’t it. But if you are looking for an inexpensive weekend get-away without a lot of hassle – then I would recommend this hotel.
