This was my second visit to this property in two years. I had not remembered that this was the hotel in whose parking lot my car had been broken into I on my previous visit. The price of the hotel was double this time of year , and the staff was very helpful in identifying a discount for me. My nightly rate was around $200.00 . The reservation and front desk staff were very helpful. Many of the hotel properties in the area have been updated in the past two years, and based on the price of the room, I assumed that was the case at his Best Western-- it was an inaccurate assumption. I am sure I was an anomaly as I was in Corpus on business for the weekend in the summer. My needs were basic, or so I thought- clean quiet room, a functional fitness center and a basic breakfast in an inviting atmosphere. I got none of the above. The room had splattered coffee on the wall and ground in dirt in the carpet. I could not adjust the temperature to a comfortable level, so I ended up in the middle of the night taking the bed coverings from the extra bed for warmth. It wasn't that much of an inconvenience as I was already awake at 2 am with loud music outside the hotel and talking very audible in the hallway. The fitness center was a room that had been emptied and a bike, stepper and treadmill were placed inside. There was one set of 25lb weights and no mats. But my biggest concern with the room was the layout. It is a prime place for someone to be assaulted with the angle of the room and a separate locked bathroom right at the entrance.
The breakfast reminded me of a HS cafeteria- dim lighting, no music or TV- tables set up in a room... No tea or fresh fruit. I did get a yogurt and water and was pleased to find that.
I was very disappointed.. in the facility, Staff was accommodating and My car was not broken into this time!
