“First visit since moving the this location.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

We arrived in town and didn't know Holiday Inn had moved to this location. I was so looking forward to hanging out on the beach. There's no beach at this location. It's a longish walk to get to the beach, but it is located across the street from the T-Head if you want to get fresh shrimp.

Hotel,
It wasn't bad, just not quite what one would expect ones accommodation and condition of the hotel to be for the pricing of ones stay.
The hotel need some sprucing up. The building was a different hotel chain at one time.
It's old location needed a lot, of updating (complete re-do actually). This location has a lot of wear and tear that needs work, and updating. Hotel has a small gift shop, which as gifts of course, items one needs for the beach, some light foods, coffee, etc.
Nice outdoor seating off lobby. The pool was nice. Strong chlorine smell. Lots of lounge chairs. Our room,
The air conditioning in the room was pretty poor. We had to turn it down to 68 to get it to even come on! It never got as low as 68 you understand, at best it got down to 78? So it was warm in the room, but we weren't in the room much (thank goodness).
Electrical outlets...,
Other than one bathroom, there was but one other available to use in our room. It wasn't located near the desk or nightstands. None of the lamps in the room had outlet capability either. Light bulls were of very low wattage so it's dark in the room.

Staff,
The people manning the reservation desk, were adequate, but didn't have much personality. Perhaps they were having a difficult day because every other employee with whom we came into contact were very nice.
We particularly would like to tell management..., Skye is a keeper. Do I see a raise in her future? A lovely young lady.

Room Tip: If it's available, we like having a harbor view.

Booked two rooms adjoining. stayed 3 nights. second day rooms were cleaned but no towels were left. so no drying off after shower. Third day left as room service came. Asked for towels. My daughter's room was cleaned mine not cleaned. seriously they adjoin how could you miss it. Daughter's room key was deactivated and we had to go get it reactivated. Still no towels. They said hotel had shortage of towels. Seriously I am a Platinum Elite Status and still couldn't get one towel. If you expect Platinum Elite status at this hotel forget it. Joe Schmo off the street probably got better service than I did. 10 dollars a day to park. not waived for status at their hotel. Might have to switch to Hilton maybe they treat their status people better. I would like to give kudos to Denver, very polite and courteous, Ashley who reactivated key and got us some towels, you rock and Jessica who deleted charges on my bill that were not supposed to be there. I guess they thought if you were dumb enough to pay them they would leave them on the bill. Seriously!!!

Room Tip: dirty rooms, no balcony access. except we did see some people standing out on their balconies.

The carpeting in the room and hallways was filthy. We were afraid to take off our shoes; it was so gross. We informed the staff twice during our stay. We even took pictures. Rooms on this floor should have never been rented, if they were not able to clean them. The weekend cleaning staff were young males wearing jeans and tshirts, no uniforms or name tags. We paid extra for valet parking, only to wait around after the parker was sent to the airport, and no one was covering for him. I informed IHG, and they have not been responsive. I will never stay at a Holiday Inn hotel again. Basic cleanliness should be a given.

We stayed there 4th of July weekend .Great location ......but the room first of all it was extremely humid in the actual room it was just very uncomfortable . Then the balcony door didnt open . We just wanted to sit outside and enjoy the view . Booking. Com said ocean view and it was only partial ocean view. My kids did enjoy the swimming pool and the breakfast buffet which was not free but we needed to eat . So from a scale of 1 to 10 one beening and a 10 beening a I would give it a four .

Great location right on the water. Room overlooks the marina. Has a very small balcony, but door leading outside was locked. Some nice little restaurants within walking distance. Convenience store with Starbucks in the lobby

I just left from a 6 night stay at this hotel and I can't wait to return! Originally we wanted to stay at the Omni but after they told us we had to pay a RIDICULOUS INCIDENT DEPOSIT OF $300 DOLLARS UPFRONT($50 a night) added on to the total cost at the time of purchase. Adding salt to the wound, they wouldn't refund that until up to 48 hours after check out(Plus however long it takes your bank to release it). After that, we were looking for somewhere else close by and we found Holiday Inn Downtown Marina. First of all, staff is amazing, extremely friendly, and attentive. We stayed in a View Room which felt small at first but was perfect for just the two of us. The little convenience store in the lobby was a lifesaver and has a mini starbucks inside that sells great breakfast tacos. We didn't dine in the restaurant but got take out and room service twice and they were great both times just a little pricy. The pool was AMAZING! Not the biggest but definitely worth it. Its an connected indoor/outdoor pool that pretty cool and at night they light up the pool with led lights that change plus nice music playing that keeps it comfortable and lively. Also, Saturday night they pulled a projection screen down and played movies for the kids. The only thing that was just a little downer is something out of their control, the balconies are not accessible in Corpus Christi due to some city code which would make sense due to the area's popularity during spring break. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

After reading another review about how dirty this hotel I mentioned this to the booking representative and she was appalled ( we had to stay here because our hostess chose this hotel). I totally agree with the other reviewers comments.

Upon leaving, I left a note for the manager with a list of problems and said I hoped this would help the next guest. Expecting a response but a week later still none.
Here was our experience--the room smelled upon entering, the sink hardly ever drained, the air-conditioners (there were two in our room) didn't work properly , one didn't work at all and the other controlled the wrong room The room carpet was not only dirty but when I walked on it I sank into a wet soggy and disgusting area. (my fix-lay towels over the entire surface. There was mold in the shower.
Not only was the room terrible but the hallway was equally disgusting-a crumpled plastic cup was still there when we left on Sunday and we had seen it Friday. Also, a hair accessory and cleaners ties were left all weekend.
We did requested a room change but were told nothing else was available-tried a different hotel and they were totally sold out.

One might expect an apology from the manager within a week after trying to be helpful and writing down all this information. I watched as the hotel's front desk employee put it in the manager's desk.
All in all, I think a Motel 4 would be better and more accommodating.

Room Tip: If you have to stay here, stay in your car or maybe floor 18-19 we hear they are updated
