“Good breakfast and muffins”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 9, 2013

Stopped in a couple of times while in Corpus and it's definitely a nice place to have breakfast. The omelettes could have been more interesting and flavorful but all in all tasty food and a pretty nice cafe setting.

“Outstanding food, service and atmosphere.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 18, 2012

Went on a Saturday afternoon. Place was packed, but not overly crowded. Four different members of the staff greeted us, and recommended things we should try. We both got sandwiches which were awesome, and tried a the tortilla soup, which if it was not homemade, then they are buying it from the right vender. All of the desserts looked very good and fattening as well, but decided to pass since it was lunch.

“Quick, Easy, Excellent food, reasonable prices”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 6, 2012

We went there for lunch and I had the Swinney Switch Cajun roasted turkey breast, apple smoked bacon, black bean & corn salsa, pepper jack cheese, red-chili pecans, tossed with an avocado-Texas ranch dressing over a bed of spring greens. What does the name have to do with this salad? Absolutely nothing, Jason, Hester’s husband, just liked the name of this fine Texas town. The salad was $8.99 and was excellent as was the Wild Mushroom soup. My wife had the daily special, a wrap with turkey and ham that she enjoyed very much.
This location is in the Art Museum and is very nice ambiance.

“Slow service and bland food”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 4, 2012

We went here for a late breakfast (10 am) and only a few tables were taken. We both ordered Curlew omelettes and then we waited and waited. It took at least 20 minutes to get served, but that wouldn't have been so bad if the food had tasted good. The omelettes had all the promised ingredients but, other than a small amount of sauce on the outside, had no significant flavor inside. Furthermore, the eggs were hard-scrambled and sort of resembled a crepe wrapped around the insides rather than being co-mingled with the spinach, Feta, bacon, etc. Our take-away was that this probably once was a nice cafe that has now gone upscale enough that it cares more about the number of coffees it offers than it does the food it serves.
