“Over Priced !!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2009

This was my husband and our 5 children's ( ages 12-11-10-7-2) first time and this was my second. I had gone when I was little which was about 20 years ago. There is still not much to it. They add the dolphin show but its boring. It's a great place to take pictures of the kids and for them to see the mamuals and fish but other then that theres nothing to it. Your better off paying $20 more and going to your local sea world. All in all we paid $85 for 2 adults, 4 kids (our 2 yr old was free),parking and a stroller rental. Its an experience though but just over priced on everything!

“Nice, but expensive”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2009

This is a nice, small aquarium. I think it's more expensive than it's worth. Our family was done in 2 hours. Look for $2 off coupons on the Corpus Christi CVB website. You can walk to the Lexington, saving some parking costs if you're doing both attractions. The 2 main shows - dolphins and birds/mammals - are 20 minutes each and are OK, not great. Many of the exhibit aquariums are very small and low to the ground. Nice for kids, but adults do a lot of bending over.

“Just after your business”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2009

The aquarium was decent but overpriced. The food court was a joke and the elevator(s) very small. I got the impression that the Texas State Aquarium upper management staff will do anything to save money and make money. Specifically, they provide no parking attendants at the entrance and rely instead on a parking sensor that allows you to enter at a snail's pace. We parked at the last row under the bridge and when we came out to our vehicle we found out that some idiot parked right behind me and blocked my attempts to get out. I had to wait for the idiot to return only to give him a few choice words. But it was not totally his fault because the site does not monitor parking violations and filled capacity levels because all they care about is getting your money. Save your money and visit a real aquarium.

“It is the TEXAS STATE aquarium”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2009

It is an aquarium that is devoted to the marine life in the Texas/Gulf Coast area (and has added a few other exhhibits). If you want to pay the Sea World prices (which are much more I might add), dirve north on I-37 to San Antonio.

It is what it is, and I have enjoyed it each time I go.
