“Lots of fun, but a little pricey”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2007

I like this place a lot.
It's educational and is a great place to spend with the family... they even have a Dolphin show now (which is really cool).
It is small comparred to other "zoo like" facilities, but definately worth the time, especially for animal lovers.
Can be pricey, but it beats the movies!

“This is the STATE aquarium?”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2007

The site itself is very nice - good exhibits, interesting facts, enjoyable tours, well-informed workers, HOWEVER....I simply cannot believe that the state of Texas calls this their "state" aquarium. Someone needs to wake up and check out aquariums in Atlanta and Chattanooga to see how they should be done and on what scale. If I were a native Texan, I would be embarrassed. Admission is exhorbitant for a small facility that might take someone an hour to see.

“Texas State Aquarium”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2006

Screaming kids, parents who don't care..... I have been to this aquarium several times. I was there this past Aug. and found it way overpriced for what you get. Some parts are very nice (jelly fish, shark tank downstairs). All of this is overshadowed by kids who's parents use this place as a babysitter. There were excited, screaming kids everywhere. I agree with other reviewers that this place is nice but you can easily get through it in less than an hour for a hefty price!

“Way OVERPRICED for a small aquarium”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2006

Extremely overpriced ($29+) for 2 adults...I'm just sorry to say it wasn't at all worth it. We walked through the whole place in under an hour. What they have is nice...but it just wasn't very impressive and there wasn't enough to see. I took some nice photos, but would definitely recommend you check out another aquarium. :-(

“Lots of fun!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2006

The Texas State Aquarium is totally awesome. But,I do think the aquarium should expand because you can make it through the whole building in half an hour, and I left wanting more. But of what the Aquarium does offer, I was so impressed. Very well organized, and really eduactional. My boyfriend and I went and we loved the touch tanks and the sea turtle exhibits. If you're in town, this is one place you defintiely have to stop by and see :).
