“Perfect getaway for overnight trip or a few days”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2013

This is a spectacular place to visit with your spouse for relaxation or with your kids. Fitness room, spa, indoor pool, Potomac River, close to D.C., National Harbor shops and stores-it really has it all. Rooms are super clean and well appointed. Good selection of on-site restaurants. (little pricey so prepare yourself). Plenty of places to eat in the Harbor area. This place is a great little gem to visit. Well done, Marriott.

Room Tip: Get a balcony room overlooking the atrium.

I had to call 3 times to get my room cleaned; finally done at 7:30 pm. Hotel is Located in swamp lands many miles from downtown. Local dining choices are limited and incredibly expensive. Hard to get a meal under $40. Room smelled like rotten eggs. They had me pack up to move to an upgraded room. The new room was exactly the same size, on a lower floor and noisier.

Huge resort. Nice surroundings. Realize that when you are here you are 'contained' and both trapped. Meeting and convention facilities are fine. Food is ok but options are limited and costly. Go a block say to CVS and stock up. Room expensive and my view was awful (wall and roof) especially for $269. Room service so busy that they took message and would call back 40 minutes later. Stay instead at a nearby option.

Was here for a meeting and loved the hotel. Big room with comfy bed which is important to me when away from home. Parking was expensive and had to drag my suitcase through the garage, then down a long hallway to get to reception. Valet would have been more convenient but too pricey. Liked having a fridge. Wish there were more attractions in the area.

I stay in many, many hotels...I had never heard of this one on the outskirts of DC...but it was spectacular!...the nicest thing about the hotel?...the entire courtyard is enclosed by a glass ceiling about 10 stores high...all shops and restaurants are inside the enclosed space...great convention hotel...I had a room on a top floor with a balcony looking out over the enclosed courtyard...room was great...bathroom was large and shower was excellent...the restaurants were outstanding, especially the Sport Bar one and the Sunday Brunch was to die for!...never saw so many food options on Sunday...if I ever get a chance to go and stay at this hotel, I'll do it in a heartbeat!...also close to Reagan National...

I very much enjoyed my four-night stay here for a business convention. The staff was extremely friendly and responsive (when I called to confirm that my room would be cleaned one particular morning because it had been skipped the previous day, housekeeping was there immediately). Room was very clean and comfortable, and had a nice view of the Potomac.
The not-so-perfect: low water pressure in shower, not great coffee in room. The convention area's wi-fi was poor, had too-little seating in common areas and the paid coffee machines didn't offer decaf.
Also, this resort is pretty isolated and has no public transport options, probably because this area is so new. Hopefully the public transportation infrastructure will be built out in the near future. The area is so new and seems to have no organic reason for existing, so it feels a little Disneyesque or as one colleague described, like the town of Stepford.

This is our second visit to this hotel. It's a beautiful place to stay in a great location but things were not as good this time for us. Checking in was miserable as it was very crowded outside and the valet parking was not operating. That meant we had to have our bags unloaded and then park a long distance away. When we finally got to our room, it took almost an hour to get our luggage. The beds in our room have reached the point of needing to be replaced. The platforms creak and make enough noise to keep waking us up. Another thing is that a hotel of this caliber should not have tables of dirty dishes left in the hall for hours and sometimes overnight. Other than that, the hotel is beautiful with the wonderful atrium and the view of the Potomac. The location is great. Nice shopping and wonderful restaurants within walking distance. The water taxi is great for going to Alexandria.

Room Tip: We like the atrium rooms with a view of the Potomac. We found out this time that rooms on the higher...
