We recently stayed at this facility and we really enjoyed it. We traded (2) 2 bedroom units with RCI. The property and units were very nice. I don't know the age of the property but it looks brand new.
The kitchen was nice and they had some things like: pan, pot, pitcher, cheese grater, but they need a cookie sheet. So if you are planning on using a cookie sheet you might want to bring your own. The seating in the kitchen was really good. They had a L shaped bench and 3 chairs and then 2 bar stools. We were able to seat 11 for breakfast every morning. BEDROOMS
The beds were comfortable- they were firm. The pillows are the down kind if you like that. One room came with two full beds and a TV and one came with a King bed with a TV. The king room had a separate shower and a whirlpool bath. The bathroom areas were really nice and had lots of storage for those that like to put your stuff away.
The pull out couch in the living room was pretty comfy and was not "springy" or anything. The living room had a TV and DVD player.
There is a free laundry room on each floor. The washers and dryers look brand new and work well. There is even handicapped facilities on the 4th floor
We only went to the indoor pool and hot tub. The pool is heated pretty well for the winter time. The hot tub is really hot, I think it is probably a little too hot. I like it really hot and I could only stay in there maybe 5 minutes or so. They do have a lifeguard on duty which kinda stinks because the kids weren't allowed in the hot tub some of the times. The rules were different every day. They even had a handicapped pool thing which was pretty cool. I have never seen a hotel so handicapped equipped.
They have a kids club room with toys and books, and they have a Wii room where the kids just sign up to play. We didn't do any of those activities but it looked like several people did. All the people were very helpful and nice at the property.
The parking is owned by someone else and I think is normally $17 a day. While we were there they were running a special that you could get it for $10 a day if you prepaid. So that wasn't that bad, because you could go in and out as many times as you wanted.
The hotel has a deal with several restaurants in the area that you can get 20% off your meal. Make sure that you stop by the Congeries for those restaurants and they have menus too.
WHAT TRANSPORTATION IS BEST????
This is our second time to DC and was tossed and turned over transportation. Before when we came there were just 2 of us and we could take the metro no problem but with 3 kids and 8 adults it was better to rent a car. Because we had so many people it was more cost effective to rent 2 cars for all 11 people and drive into the city. If you drive it only takes 20 min. to get anywhere you want in the city but then you have to look for parking. If you choose to take the Metro, you need to know that you have to take a Metro bus to the Branch Ave rail station and then take the 30 min. rail into the city. It will take you about 45 min. to take the Metro into the city. If you take the bus you have to have EXACT change. They do not take rail passes on the bus. If you have a smart trip card that will work on the bus. Also the earliest bus to leave from the hotel is 8:30 AM so keep that in mind when booking White House or Capital tours.
