“GREAT MODERN HOTEL WITH ALL THE TRIMMINGS”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2013

We stayed here one night took two rooms. Roughly $225 per room.

We were upgrade to the top floor so King Room and Queen Twin Room. Great large clean rooms with complimentary wi-fi and everything else you could need.

Friendly staff, fast room service nice restaurant.

We used the pool with excellent hot tub and I used the gym - which has a nice view out over the marina.

My only criticism is that the gym equipment is not clean. There are no sanitising wipes after finishing a workout and there are the tell tale signs of dried in sweat on the machines - showing that cleaning does not take place regularly.

Room Tip: Try for an upgrade to the top floor.

Stayed at this hotel for a week and just wasn't impressed. The national harbor is just okay despite all the hype. There are a few restaurants and shops, but after several years after opening it still lacks luster. Being on the water and seeing the boats is nice though. More about the hotel - the rooms are small, the lobby is small and just totally non-impressive for a Westin. Parking across the street in the public parking garage is recommended. I must say that after I checked out I was later charged $150 for valet parking for the week which we never used. After contacting the hotel's accounting manager Carla and leaving several voicemail messages, she finally responded after several days and said she'd look into it and get back to me. Needless to say the chick never called back and I could never reach her live. I then left a message for the hotel general manager regarding the situation and he asked his assistant manager to call me back. He called asap and resolved the issue promtly by issuing a credit for the erroneously charged $150 on my card after determining that they accidently charged the wrong customer.

We are sorry to hear of your problems and your dissapointment. We have spoken to the accounting manager and taken the necessary steps to fix this situation in the future. We are glad the AGM was able to fix the issue with immediacy. We do hope you will return, despite your dissapointment with the harbor, as there are many things to do and over a dozen restaurants to choose from as well as many retail options.

My husband and I attended a conference this past weekend.(NADCP) - ALL RISE - National Association of Drug Court Professionals. (7/13/2013-7/16/2013)
This was such a fantastic room and the service was also really great. You felt as if you were in an infinity pool, the water was eye level to the bed- This is only a 6 story high building and when the drapes were open all the way you had a breath taking view of the boats docked just far away that you felt you had privacy, and close enough to give you a picturesque view. It truly couldn't have been better. The harbor has spectacular at night. We even got to see a moon set each night. The place is clean, spacious and just fantastic- centrally located to all the shops and great restaurants. the pool is clean and the gym is well stocked- you won't want for a thing.

Room Tip: be sure and ask for room #601- best view in the entire hotel!!

Thank you for your kind comments. The view is just one of the things we pride ourselves on here at the Westin. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed it. Should you return next year, I'm sure you will have just as nice a time.

National Harbor area has multiple choices for shopping and dining. Great views of the Potomac. Hotel is very clean and well-maintained. Good choice for lodging if you do not want to stay downtown in DC. Be sure to self-park for $11. Would recommend.

Arrived Wednesday July 3 2013. The Westin located within walking distance for all the shops, different variety of food for all types of tastes. Westin is a great hotel for families and also for couples, Steve and MS Green were more than happy to assist in anyway they could. Most days we ate breakfast at the Sauecity inside the hotel price range from $8 - $15 Ms Green restaurant Mgr very accomodating. Steve would also inquire and make sure all our needs were met both were very pleasant. Rooms are nicely kept, spacious and clean. Great hotel for dog owners too, free fireworks on the harbor during our stay for 4th July. Plus free courtesy shuttle for hotel guests to Metro station VA runs every hour OR several tours you can do but a little pricey. Self park 1/2 block away for $11 a day whereas valet parking $35/$42. No one can move betwen floor without room key, which made us feel very safe.

Room Tip: Our room street view, harbor view extra $25 a day.. No need to pay that cost as aqll have access to...

If you haven't spent time at National Harbor you are missing a great part of DC (I know it's Maryland). The Westin provided a fairly comfortable and quiet nights sleep and it's right in the heart of the Harbor area which is simply beautiful. Restaurants of every variety are within walking distance. Sit out by the Harbor and enjoy the view!

Search well to get a good rate. Currently prices for hotels there are expensive.
For families - the Children's Museum is open and walking distance away.
Also, parking is actually affordable - no need to pay for valet at the many of the hotels there.

If you are able to look away from your water view, be sure to check your room. Upon check in, our toilet would not flush and the floor looked as if It had not been vacuumed in weeks. Both issues were resolved promptly but should not have been issues at all when staying at a Westin property. The night staff was quite pleasant and helpful. The young man doing valet in the evening was delightful and refreshing. I believe his name begins with an I. Another positive is the hotel is within walking distance of many shops and restaurants, and watching the sunset from the small beach area was certainly a highlight of our stay. We were in the DC area for vacation and found this to be a very convenient location to many popular tourist spots.
