“Get away in Salt Lake city”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 11, 2013

My husband & I had a day to get away and stayed in the Marriott. Staff was friendly & helpful.Hotel is older but remodeled and nice, You can always count on a nice room at a Marriott property. Great view overlooking City Creek and the fountains. Location was great as we could walk all over Salt Lake to the different places we wanted to go. Drove up to Snowbird and hiked and enjoyed Octoberfest.

This is one of the best Marriott's nationwide. I always stay at this facility whenever I am in Salt Lake City. It is convenient to shops, dining, and other venues. If you happen to be a Medallion member this facility has an excellent lounge on the 16th floor. You can have a snack or cocktail and enjoy the view overlooking the South side of the city. A great place to look at the beautiful sunsets.

Room Tip: Mall side has a great view of the Temple and Mountains.

My niece Sydney had a dance competition right across from the Marriott at the Convention Center and it was perfect! Not only the location was great but so were our rooms. We had gotten a room with 2 beds, and they were very comfortable and the room was clean! My sister and I were able to get our rooms next to each other so we could keep the door open between our rooms and go back and forth. The showers were a good size, clean, and love the shampoo/cond. that were complimentary. Even though our room had coffee maker, down inside the lobby was a Starbucks! Now, down the next half block (walking time 7mins.) was Benihana and Olive Garden, ate at both places different nights and both were excellent! In the evening, the downtown area goes quiet. Like the city also goes to sleep and it wasn't loud, no traffic nor could we hear from our room any cars of any kind. Thankfully, we just walked back and forth across the street to the Convention Center where Sydney was dancing and the hotel was pleasant. Upon leaving we were able to check in on our flight right at the lobby area before leaving for the airport. The staff was very helpful when needed and were very pleasant! If you have a convention there I would stay at the Marriott, it was a good stay and visit! Happy & safe travels! :)

Change to this location after passing through down on the big inning of our month long loop that stated and ended in SLC. Great location, amenities, rental car for Hertz on site. Weekend rate excellent....since we do not do a heavy breakfast coffee in room with a food bar met our needs.
Paid parking $13.00 daily off set by garage parking if you just come in the city at $2.00/ hr.
Can come and go as needed.

City Creek shoppes directly behind hotel with food and shops options, Temple Square 1/2 block across north end of building, family library one block.

Would recommend for those who want downtown option.

Room Tip: South end of building quite with SW VIEW.

Location was perfect for the convention we were attending. Room was maintained well, but housekeeping had a tendency to yell at each other in the hallway which was distracting and unpleasant.
We were disappointed with the hours of the Executive Lounge; they claimed it was standard however, this is not what we have found in the past.

We was in town for a function at the convention center my company booked a room here for my family and myself . We wanted to come in a day early and had hoped the hotel would honor out company and the association's pre arranged discount. No such luck for that , the people who I spoke with at guest services were in fact quit rude, and in fact couldn't even find my reservation at first. Then I requested an early check in I was told that I would need to do that the morning that I check in . The first morning of our stay we was awakened by room service at 7: 00 A.M. wanting to know clean the room . The next day house keeping didn't get to our room too after 3:00 P.M. then they left towels with such bad strains it was unbelievable . The next day house keeping didn't get to our room till after 4:00 P.M. we had a formal function to be to at 5:15 so w finally had to just ask for
some clean towels, and wash cloths. Upon complaining to the front desk we was rudely told they have until 5:00 P.M. to clean our room. We really expected more from this hotel than this.

There's not a better hotel in downtown Salt Lake City if you are looking for superb customer service. And the location is wonderful as it is right next to the convention center and adjacent to City Creek and half a block from Temple Square.
