Takashi is the man behind everything there, some of the best sushi and some of the most creative dishes I have ever had. Have been all over the world and he is amazing.

The best sushi...fresh, creative and excellent flavors! And, the cooked dinners are really good too. Worth the wait to get in.

“Best Sushi EVER !!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2014

Takashi is THE best sushi on the planet. Fresh, wonderful flavor, unique rolls with new selections available regularly. Takashi also has a great selections dishes for those who don't care for sushi. The Azukura is my favorite. Tempura green beans and mushrooms artistically arranged with strips of delicious cooked to order filet minion. We come with the entire family of 12 or just the two of us and the service is always wonderful. They honor reservations from 5:30 pm to 6:00 pm which is nice if you have a larger group since there is almost always a wait. The sushi bar is excellently staffed. We have even been served by Takashi himself at the sushi bar - which is a huge treat.

“Best for SLC is average elsewhere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 29, 2014

The tuna and yellow tail sashimi were excellent! Kudos for the Uni as well. The pork belly and cod appetizers were very tasty, as well as the sake flight. The sushi and rolls suffer from poorly prepared sushi rice, that was hard and dense. Apparently the art of sushi is predominately about the quality of the prepared sushi rice and Takashi doesn't make the grade. I've experienced sushi in Japan and this is definitely wanting. For SLC, fabulous. Busy place, so arrive early or anticipate waiting. Local parking is scarce.
