“A Great Beginning”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2012

This is the premier place in downtown SLC to begin or further your family history search. You don't need to go to the library now that almost everything has been digitized. The staff is helpful, and there is almost always a computer available. So if you are a beginner or moderately interested in genealogy, but aren't yet ready to pay for the expensive websites, come here where they are free and the help is too.

“If you're into genealogy, this is a don't miss”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2012

Fabulous resources, amazing staff. If you are just starting into your family history, as am I, this place is just amazing. Worth a special trip. But, if you're in Salt Lake for anything, do yourself a favor and drop by. Even if you're not into genealogy, these folks can help you start.

“Hard to imagine!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 26, 2012

The "staff" was as amazing as the unbelievable extensiveness of the materials available. Try to bring any documentation or notes you may have and be prepared to go to work with ample guidance.

“Very helpful; lots of info”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2012

If you want to know who your ancestors are, you can most likely find out here. They have information on many millions of people, from hundreds of sources. They are getting the info digitized and searchable. And microfilms of so many records that I can't conceive of the number. But, better than the amount of information, is the help you can get. Computer terminals all over the place to use to research the records, and a lot of people to help you learn how to use them. Or answer questions about genealogy in general. Or where to find other sources. And it's not some dusty, cobwebby basement storage room. Pleasant, clean atmosphere and friendly people.
