We have been to The Roof restaurant several times over the years. We have always been happy with our choices. I almost always choose their salads and pasta dishes. My husband and son love meat and usually choose the Prime Rib or fish. You can order from the menu or order the buffet. It is fine dining. It also has a wonderful view of Temple Square and downtown Salt Lake City. It is also located to many popular local places with the City Creek Mall just across the street. The City Creek Mall actually has a creek running through it. It is a great place you should experience at least a st once which will lead to more future visits.

Have now had the pleasure of enjoying the experience at this restaurant twice. As this is a buffet, there will always be something you like no matter how picky you are. Everything is good quality. Plenty for weight watchers, gluttons and gourmands alike.
Save room for the delicious desserts ( about 15-20 to return to over and over if you desire).

Service if needed is super friendly.

The view is spectacular. End of March 7.30 - sunset and spires light up, December - Christmas Lights on Temple Square.

Want a fancy posh dinner? The roof is probably one of the nicest restaurants in salt lake if not the nicest. Great food, wonderful views of downtown salt lake after dark. But you'll pay $50 per person for the buffet. It's wonderful food, and you get what you pay for.

The restaurant is certainly upscale with a spectacular view. Keep in mind, however, it is a buffet, and quite expensive for a buffet ($40 each). That said, the food was outstanding, both in quality and choice, with the desserts the highlight. The staff seemed a bit young, but were quite efficient.
