“Amazing ambiance, focused friendly service, unique twist on Italian classics”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

This was the place I brought my fiancee for our romantic engagement dinner and I wasn't disappointed. The service and attention to detail was very focused and more importantly, very friendly. There wasn't any of the uptight stuffiness often associated with upscale restaurants. The Bartender created the perfect beverages. The hostess found the perfect table and the server was a combination of pure delight, professionalism and humor - something we appreciated and something that made both of us more relaxed. The appetizers, while not "traditional Italian" in the truest sense of the word, were tasty and uniquely presented and plated and had a nice twist on them. The entrees were plentiful and leftovers were brought home. The most simple of the items on the menu surprised with amazing flavors. Desert was freshly made and sublime. The evening was a good value and almost everything was priced at an excellent price point for this type of venue. A must visit at least once, especially if you are a foodie in the area.

“OK for a nice evening out”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2012

On the surface Tuscany is a beautiful restaurant, lit up with fairy lights making it look like some magical romantic kingdom.
But disappointingly we were seated in a cold room barren in contrast to other fun looking dining rooms. Our waiter although attentive had memorized his sales pitch down to the letter, but ask him any question off the beaten path and he couldn't answer certain details about the food being served.
I did enjoy the back-lit menus and it was a fun addition to the atmosphere but unfortunately I was left feeling a little underwhelmed by the experience.
The food itself was nice, but just "nice" - not exceptional, and for the prices involved I had hoped for a treat, but this wasn't the case.

“Group dinner: Great ambience, fine food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2012

I don't know what else to say that hasn't been said by many other reviewers. The setting for this restaurant is quite unique; there's a lot of stone as I recall on the first floor, but decorated in warm earth tones and lit nicely. There's an iron rail on the top floor around the beautiful and unique glass sculpture in the middle (which sits on the main floor and extends up to the second floor, the way a huge Christmas tree might), and views out the windows of the second floor dining areas. To me, with the wooded surroundings and the wood-shingled roof, it gave off sort of an Alpine vibe. The food was very good; my short ribs were done very nicely.

Nice building, the food is OK. So if you like atmosphere, go her. If you want good italian, go to Cucina Vanina...
