“Not excellent, not planning to stay here on return visit.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2012

The staff person who checked us in wasn't very helpful or kind - it seemed like an inconvenience that we were checking in. When we got to our room, the temperature was set to 81 degrees! It took a few hours for the room to cool down to a comfortable temperature... We also noticed there were some hairs in the shower that were definitely not ours that the cleaning staff must have missed. Overall, we weren't exceptionally impressed and I would most likely consider a different hotel if I returned to the area.

When I arrived I was immediately greeted by the front desk staff, gave my name and had my room issued to me. Room was a little hot because the air conditioner was broken but I called to the front desk to let them know and they had a maintenance person there within literally 5 minutes. They couldn't find anything wrong with the A/C but did offer to switch my room or give me an oscillating fan. I said I'd try the fan and see if maybe the A/C was froze up or something and if it didn't improve I'd switch rooms the next day. The next day I did switch rooms but overall I had an excellent stay. The staff was friendly and very attentive. Room service was good, the restaurant was good. Even the view was good. A nice hotel for business or pleasure. :-)

Room Tip: I stayed in room 309 which had a temperamental air conditioner I'm gonna say, but when I switche...

Great location in Salt Lake City. Ended up staying here for 2 nights on our trip before flying home. The rooms are large and well kept, there is a large flat screen TV, desk fridge, microwave and coffee maker. The pool and hot tub are a nice size and there is a well equipped fitness room. There is a restaurant and diner on site along with a small shop. The carpets in the corridors could do with replacing as they are starting to look worn. Overall a nice hotel, friendly staff would recommend.

Some rooms are bigger than others and wish the bathroom was a little bigger. There is a vanity outside the bathroom but no sink.

Van service is reliable and easy to ask for rides.

Trax is four long blocks away. Brewvies bar and movie theater is just behind the hotel and open until 2am but not loud, a good late night option.

This is a comfortable hotel, in a good location, in Salt Lake City, it's just a short walk to the light rail system, which can take you to the city centre and temple square.
The hotel room was a good size, it had free wifi, and a good bed, the bathroom was okay with a fairly good shower. The people in reception were friendly and helpful, but it was difficult to get a drink at the bar, in the evening, they required you to order food as well. If you needed a drink, you were better to go elsewhere.
Over all it was a good hotel.

Hotel is clean, aging a bit. Pool is very nice. Rooms are decent, beds are very comfortable. Breakfast buffet is excellent... this sells the room! Hard to find a breakfast better than this for the price. Diner is great too. Only negative is the noisy A/C in the rooms and hallways. We had a room on the side where the tour buses load and unload, we could hear that daily and smell the fumes from the buses. The balcony doors are not proper sealed, so you can close them securely, the hotel is working on it. Great stay overall. The food and comfy beds sell the hotel. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Convenient to University of Utah and Huntsman Cancer Hospital.

Room Tip: Choose a room on the inside over the pool, not over the roadway... too noisy over the roads...not su...

I recently spent 2 nights here as it was the only one available and also cheaper than the place I usually stay. The room we got was a little but small, but the location in the building was an odd spot so I would gather that the other king rooms not in this funny corner of the building would be a bit larger. The only issue I had was that there is no contental breakfast and you have to have the buffet for an additional $8 if you wish to eat on site. The location is good, although it is on 600 south and is one way to the west so you have to plan your route to make sure you are in the right lane to turn into the hotel. The balconies are sealed, it would have been a treat to use it to watch the sunset over the mountains.
