“Great Utah History.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2012

My memory is of a great museum with a lot of new facts for a long time resident. It has been a long time, but I remember that I wanted to go back again with more time to spend.

“Fun, free, family adventure into Utah's military history”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 24, 2011

Something for everyone- displays, uniforms, photos, guns, tanks, cannons, etc. This covers the period from the Mormon pioneers arrival in 1847 to the current conflicts where Utah soldiers are deployed. Army (including Utah National Guard) , Navy, Marines and Coast Guard are included
(Air Force and ANG are honored at the Hill Aerospace Museum.)

Located near the University of Utah, the VA Hospital and Huntsman Cancer Institute, so this was a good diversion if you will be spending some time at any of those.

The museum is in the middle of a (long term) expansion project, but no construction stuff to get in the way. Handicap accessible (except a few areas.)

We were very impressed with this fine museum. There was a great deal of interesting information, tanks, helicopters and history. We enjoyed our visit here very much.

“Historic army base started in 1862”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2011

This fort served the area since the middle 1800s. It covers a large area, some part of the university and has a few interesting looking buildings, a museum and canons, tanks, etc on display. Good if you are a history and/or military buff.
