“THE BEST!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2012

Oh my gosh - had never had Middle Eastern food before until one of my students took me there. I ate way too much, but it was SO delicious! Staff is friendly, and the market is charming and very reasonably priced. If I lived in SLC, I would eat there at least once a week...maybe twice ;-)

“Come with a big appetite”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 9, 2012

The food at Shahrazad is indeed very flavorful and satisfying. The quantity of food is truly amazing and the prices very nominal. Been to some other places in SLC with Lebanese/Mediterranean cuisine and while they were good, their prices were almost double of what Shahrazad charges. While it does not have as many service hands as most other restaurants, they do make up for it with the quality and quantity of food. The atmosphere is closer to what you would see in a Middle-Eastern restaurant and we enjoyed it thoroughly. There is also free arabian tea available at the counter. If you want to enjoy the flavor of the Middle East definitely drop by here.

“Cooked to Order and the Aromas Divine”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2012

Duly impressed! We sat down as three friends looking for the flavors of the Middle-East. Even though having varying degrees of experience with typical Arab dishes didn't dampen our collective enthusiasm. We knew to expect olives and olive oil, mint, parsley and large wedges of lemon for squeezing and that was about it. We arrived open to the experience and eager to learn more. We ordered and quickly received a large rustic Koubz bread (considered a gift from God), hummus and a garlic/cucumber/yogurt dipping sauce that peaked our hunger and fomented conversation. What's in this? Slurp. Wow, that's good. And more noises of the that ilk...

Shortly thereafter came HUGE platters of steaming food sending heavenly aromas into the air. Sipping pomegranate juice and laughing we ripped into plates so very different yet so delightful, we all confirmed we'd be back again soon. But next time we'd bring even more friends.

A secret this good must surely be shared!
