“Beautiful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 12, 2013

Even if you don't ski, check out this canyon and its camp/picnic grounds!!

Drive up to the ski resorts for a beautiful view of the canyons and the mountains. Just as beautiful in the summer as in the winter.

“Perfect”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2013

I have driven up this canyon hundreds of times. It is beyond beautiful, in every season. It's hard to imagine a more beautiful place so close to a major city. And it comes with a huge variety of activities, great for all ages. You can fish in the lakes at the top (including Silver Lake, which is an easy walk from the parking lot), hike on trails of any level of difficulty, incomparable skiing in the winter, and many more.

To state the obvious, it does get a huge amount of snow in the winter, so be prepared. You do not want to be driving up or down the canyon in a blizzard, and oftentimes they close the road and won't let you anyway.

“Stunning. Beautiful, worthy family day trip.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 5, 2013

Fantastic, as the title states I went with my family commonly when I lived in Utah and it's stunning. Utah is definitely a staple of natural beauty and this is a must-see if you're into that.

Beautiful scenery and a lovely way to spend an off day. Rejuvenates you by just being disconnected from the world, let alone all the calm surroundings.

However, that being said, it's very convenient to get to everywhere around it if you want to get a bite to eat at a local restaurant.

I LOVE Big Cottonwood canyon! It is super convenient and easy to get to. It is also absolutely gorgeous. There is tons to do up there, great hiking trails, fishing and the best skiing around. It is also very affordable. Especially if you stay at http://www.brightonchalets.com

“Skied Solitude, great snow”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 25, 2013

good grooming in a low snow year, producing great conditions in a low snow year (for Utah). The Bratwurst at the mid station restaurant was fantastic
