“Well worth the visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 27, 2013 via mobile

We spent about 2 hours here, moving through the whole place at a medium pace. Someone who wants to read a lot more could easily spend 3 or 4 hours here. For starters, the building itself is a treasure (views from the fifth floor deck are worth the price), and the exhibit is laid out so you can start on the fifth floor and amble your way back down. Very modern and airy. There was neat stuff on Indians, animals, and geology, but the standout here is the dinosaur exhibit. Turns out Utah's had several major finds, some of which have made their way here. Again, really well labeled and stunningly laid out. Worth the visit with an 11year old.

“Beautiful space, part of connect PASS, full of schoolkids”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2013

This is a newer building but has lots of ramps and uneven areas for the displays. I went during the afternoon but there were schoolkids at every display so hard to do any of the activities or read the displays. There were less dinosaurs then expected. The Navajo basket collection was interesting. I thought the most interesting thing was watching the scientist work on the real bones and artifacts.

“Very interesting and a beautiful setting!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 7, 2013

Well laid out and easy to follow exhibits. A must see when in the area. Really loved the fact that one can observe live work being done on pieces for future display.

“A Top Attraction in Salt Lake City”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

The Natural History Museum of Utah is a must see when visiting Salt Lake City. The building is beautiful and located at the very top of the university with a magnificent view of the city, valley and mountains. All the exhibits are good, but the dinosaurs are particularly impressive, as is the section on the ancient peoples of Utah. Plan to spend at least two hours.

“Great museum and exhibitions!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2013

The brand-new Natural History Museum of Utah by Red Butte Gardens is AWESOME! The museum is a huge improvement over the old Natural History Museum, which had become very dated. The new museum is moden and very well designed with great exhibits throughout. I love how the architecture mirrors the varied landscape of Utah. For kids or the young at heart there are lots of interactive displays throughout that provide hands on learning. I've only been to the new museum once but I'd love to go back. The people responsible for the new Natural History Museum did a wonderful job.
