We enjoyed our stay at the Grand America. The room was posh, large and comfortable. Staff treated us well. It's pricey...but definitely one of the nicest hotels in Salt Lake City.

After much coaxing I convinced my family to go to Salt Lake City, Utah for the christmas holidays (05) where we stayed at The Grand America Hotel. I cannot say enough about this place. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. They even sent a gift basket for my 2 year old son to entertain him that was filled with toys and books. The food was excellent. In fact, the person who initially took my reservation made an absolute mess of it and within minutes they not only fixed the matter, but sent us a comp dessert of there famous Chocolate Piano. I also had the best facial I ever had in my life in the spa located in the hotel. If I were rich I would return just for that luxury. The Grand America may hurt your pocket a bit, but it was worth every penny. We are hopefully returning next year.

My husband and I were there for his business conference. Therefore, while he enjoyed the hotel's wonderful conference accommodations, I spent the entire time enjoying the hotel. I spent most of one day enjoying the indoor pool and spa facilities. I would advise one to book certain spa services early (the hotel website states this as well), as there were no appointments available upon my arrival. However, this was not at all disappointing to me as I enjoyed the immaculate sauna and steam room, and was able to wrap in one of their yummy robes and relax in the beautiful surroundings.

I also decided to have afternoon tea in the lounge. The food, especially the deserts, was really good and the service was amazing. We ordered room service several times and never were disappointed. In fact, our steaks from the hotel were superior to ones we had eaten at a highly recommended local establishment.

We both found the front desk employees, bell staff and concierge to be extremely friendly and helpful. We were given great advice for skiing and equipment rental. The guestroom was beautiful and inviting. Housekeeping was flawless and the provided toiletries were very nice. This hotel manages to provide extraordinary five star service without the stuffiness that often accompanies such high quality accommodations.

We stayed at the Grand America for our 10 year anniversary. The room was very clean and nice but the mattress was terrible. We had a horrible night's sleep, waking up with kinks in our necks and backaches. The pillows were too soft and the bed too firm. There are better hotels in Salt Lake that are much more comfortable and affordable.
