“Nice location and easy access”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2014

We decided to hold our company managers meeting at the hotel and it was a really good choice. The rooms are nice, the beds are just right and the price was reasonable.
We met in one of the conference rooms on the second floor and the staff worked hard to make sure the water pitchers were full of ice water, and the coffee was always piping hot.
It is an easy block and a half to the mall, which is definitely a nice place to spend some time since it is partially outdoors. (Maybe not in the winter though)
A quick 12 minutes to and from the airport and the views of the surrounding mountains are awesome.

Room Tip: Get a corner room toward the front of the hotel if you are there on a weekend, since they sometimes...

Was here with a floor's-worth of relatives for a wedding. This is a large, well-run, well-appointed Marriott. and in that sense, it's generic. You will get exactly the same high quality at most recently-built downtown Marriotts.
What sets this one apart is the staff. Every one of them smiles. A lot. And is helpful. A lot. My thanks to Jessica, the excellent hostess/maitre'd/troubleshooter behind the check-in counter, who fixed problems with the pass to the parking garage, and recommended the Saturday Farmers Market a few blocks away. Also to Tobias and Chase, who valeted cars, hauled bags, and helped several grandparents use the elevator to get from the front drive up to the lobby, 10 steps above. And also, the restaurant staff, who brought me a free coffee the first morning when I got to the lobby 15 min after the free coffee was over. Not just 'Here's a cup,' either. Brought it in a carafe, on a tray, with the option of a china cup and saucer or a travel cup and lid. With a chrome creamer, and a tray of sugar-types. And a real spoon.
Our group also ended up using the hospitality suite on the 10th floor for three days. Excellent facilities. Definitely will stay there again.
Harmons grocery is two blocks away, better than any Whole Foods. The Saturday Farmers Market is about 5 blocks west . And the beautiful City Hall is across the street and south one block.

Room Tip: West side looks out onto the big public plaza, with lots of games, and a bandstand

The arrival experience was very good, with the bell boy taking the bag up the steps (this hotel has a few steps on the front entrance !).

The location is excellent, a short walk to Temple square, a longer one to the Capitol, which is easily doable, but rember it is uphill.

Checkin was quick (I also had checked in online).

The room (a corner one), although not new, was in good order, with efficient air conditioning, comfortable bed, large bathroom, large TV, large desk, armchair etc.

The old electronic safe was in a suboptimal position near the floor.

Empty refrigerator; there is a little shop near reception and there are vending machines for drinks at the floors, but theu require one dollar notes or coins.

The free basic internet was sufficiently fast; there is a pay option if you need streaming quality.

The room service menu was varied, service accurate and food was good.

The buffet breakfast was rich of all the expected cold items such as pastries, packages yoghurts, fruits.

Coffe and juice were served and service was friendly and extremely careful.

I had online checkout and the bell boy was very quick to provide a fixed-fee Limo service to the airport.

This was a nice, upscale Marriott centrally located in downtown. The furnishings were a bit outdated and heavy, but everything was spotless. The concierge lounge is great - very good desserts in the evening. The pool and workout area are nice - a bit heavy on the chlorine though. Very good service from the staff.

I've stayed here 3 times in the last 3 months and have now made this my preferred hotel in Salt Lake. The location is excellent with good restaurants and shopping within walking distance. The staff is friendly and accomodating. The fitness center on the 2nd floor overlooks the city center area and is well appointed. The concierge lounge is very good and kept well maintained. Breakfast is good and I appreciate the ability to get a latte in the morning. This is a great property for business travelers and I imagine families as well. I will continue to stay here.

I really liked this Marriott. The room was a good size very comfortable. The linens were soft and clean. I wish it had powered USB ports but there were plenty of outlets. All of the employees were friendly and helpful.

Good choice while in SLC.

Hotel staff was very friendly. Hotel is beautiful. Across the street from the convention center and next door to a mall with high-end stores. One block from Temple Square. Beds were super comfortable, with nice bedding. Starbucks in lobby (although it closed early). Awesome inside pool and hot tub (open until 11 pm). The only negative was the bath towels were thin; pool towels were much nicer. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!
