“Business and Skiing made Easy and Comfortable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 12, 2014

I had a great stay at the Sheraton Salt Lake City Hotel. My trip was mixed purpose business on a Friday and then skiing through the weekend.
Upon check-in I received a nice greeting from Mackenzie Roberts in Guest Services and she provided excellent customer service making my visit fantastic and easy. My room was very large and located close to all of the amenities in the hotel. Guest Services made sure that I had recommendations for ski resorts, transportation services and ski rental options close to the hotel.
The hotel has an expansive resort-like lobby with a pub, gift shop and a Starbucks.
Overall, I would totally recommend the hotel as a great starting point with close proximity to multiple world class ski resorts.

Room Tip: First floor on the other side of the banquet rooms are quiet and are located close to the lobby and...

This is the only Starwood hotel in SLC. The hotel desperately needs a referb and a redesign. The rooms really felt old, the paint was pealing and the sliding door wouldn't shut properly. The service was very average. That been said the price was cheap. The worst part was that the sauna was not working which is much needed after a day of skiing.

Walking into a spectacular grand entrance of a lobby had us tricked upon walking into our room.
The hallway ceiling had a few holes cut into it and trash can catching water drips. I get things happen but we never saw maintenance working on it.
The bathroom door had paint peeling off of it and the pull out couch/bed was worse than sleeping on the floor. The king bed in our loft suite was comfy.
In my eyes, it just wasn't up to par for the price you pay.

I will say, we've spoken to the hotel staff about our complaints, which were noted. And they were apologetic .

Dear travelingtoday,

You were given an "Out of Order" room that should not have been made available for guest use until the necessary repairs were made. Again, we are very sorry for what happened and I hope our staff appropriately made up for this experience. I would be interested in hearing more from you about your stay. Please contact me.

Sincerely,

We were so pleased to arrive at this hotel after a subpar stay in midvale. The Sheraton has a great lobby with a Starbucks and gift shop that open early. I was able to score some great coffee and a few last minute gifts while waiting for the convenient airport shuttle. We also really appreciated that the hotel offers in town shuttle service so we were able to dine at the red iguana for dinner ( a must!) and sample some of the local beers at red rock and squatters. Our driver was also nice enough to take us for a drive by of temple square. Overall, we were really happy with the hotel, location, and service.

Nice Hotel for the money, (we did a bid on priceline and got if for $84), Friendly staff, not a bad location, fairly quiet, very clean, shuttles are available, perfect for conferences/ business travelers and beds are comfortable.

We would have preferred to be closer to city center so that we could walk to Mill Creek Mall and the temple to see the lights, no breakfast, fans in rooms are not loud enough to mask street and hall noise, fitness center was very small.

I always love staying downtown Salt Lake City. There's plenty of great places to eat and the light rail is never but a few steps away. I'm SPG Platinum and have spent many nights in SPG hotels. This is a nice Sheraton with good people working there, but this hotel has my most hated trait. The interior doors are so loud, you can hear when everyone on your floor comes home. If the people next door to you come in late and they don't know that the door doesn't shut quietly, you will be abruptly awakened by the slamming door.

Dear Experiencedtrav07,

Thank you for being a loyal SPG member! We love hearing from our Platinum guests and your feedback is very important to us. While there may not be much we can do about the doors at this point, I will still share the comment with our Engineering Team to see if they can get creative with solutions.

Sincerely,

Jeff N.
