“quiet and clean”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2011

The bed was very comfortable, the tv was great, and the workout room was gorgeous. The people who work here were friendly and the internet (wireless) was free.

Very nice hotel. Sleep number beds are comfortable. Only a few minutes walk to Temple Square and other downtown locations.

You can park across street. Otherwise it's $12/day.

My friends and I stayed at the downtown Radisson when we attended the Stampin Up convention in July of 2010. I had Stayed there also in June for a family reunion so I know how nice it is.
It's impressive when you walk in the foyer, it's beautiful and clean. The service at check in and out was wonderful. The lines moved quickly and they let us check in early as well. The first time we went we did get a extra roll away bed and it arrived in good time. The room was clean and fresh and had everything we needed.
We stayed for an entire week when there in July. The room was plush and the beds can be adjusted for firmness. We enjoyed the food we had from snacks and sandwiches to nice dinners as well, and again, the service was outstanding! I have stayed in a few of the other hotels downtown but will never switch again. We were treated so well I felt like a VIP.

Room Tip: Go see the rooms before you stay there, I did!

Let me say that while other reviewers may be onto something by noting that the rooms here are not new or the most modern, the quality overall is pretty high and the customer service (front desk, especially) is characterized by the attention to detail that Radisson trains its employees in. We stayed here for a conference in Feb and got a "suite" that turned out to be two adjacent rooms joined by the usual doorway. We weren't displeased, however, because we had signed up for an "upgrade if available" and got a very cheap rate. The hotel seemed to have quite a few guests but was QUIET (we got our rooms on the side away from the train tracks, as suggested by others) and comfortable. Beds were nice. Furnishings were nice. Everything was clean. We didn't use the restaurant but the hotel is a stone's throw from MANY good places to eat & all the downtown attractions. Jesse, the front-desk manager, was particularly great. Would stay here again!

Room Tip: Stay on the side that is away from the tram track

What a nice place!! I arrived earlier than I expected but thought that I would try and check in and WOW I did get checked in early. Courtney worked harder than any clerk that I have ever encountered in assisting me with my needs. Needing a handicap room with two beds and a wheel in shower was a challenge I’m sure but she did it and she did it with a smile. The room itself was very clean and comfortable and included free internet and in room coffee. This property is within walking distance to Energy Solutions and the Gateway Mall. The restaurant on property is wonderful. I will defiantly be staying here whenever I am in Salt Lake City.

My recent stay at the Radisson in Downton Salt lake for a conference demonstrated the strengths and weaknesses of this property. The hotel is located downtown and very near restaurants and other downtown sites. The staff were warm, friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. The trip was for a conference and the conference facilities were well laid out and organized. There were some difficulties in room temperature in the conference facilities though. My room was a double and was spacious with adequate furnishing, but the walls, carpets, bathroom tiling and fixtures were all shabby, stained with unrepaired holes in the wall. The air conditioning unit had a very noisy rattle when we tried to run it, and we needed the fan all night since the hotel was quite full and noisy. I know that some folks like the "sleep number" beds provided by the Radisson but I am not one of them. The beds are like sleeping on an air mattress where you control the inflation. The bed was sweaty, and noisy when you turn over. It is possible that not all floors in this hotel are as shabby, but if this is representative of rooms available for the conference rate, then we were served badly.

Room Tip: ask for recently updated floors

We were booked into the Radisson Downtown after missing a Delta connection. (The zero-star rating for "Value" represents only that we paid via voucher. I don't know how much the room actually cost).

We had a slight issue checking in. We were given room 1525 but when arriving, the room was obviously very recently smoked in. I believe this is an entirely Non-Smoking hotel. The friendly front desk staff promptly changed us unto a more suitable room.

Our room had Sleep Number beds which were fun to experiment with as well as provided for a great night's rest (though it took a little getting used to). Room included the usual hotel fare.

I don't, however, believe this hotel has a free shuttle like others in the area. So transfer from SLC may have to be paid out of pocket.

We didn't get to see a lot of the hotel since we were only there one night. However the rooms were clean, staff friendly and accommodating as was the lobby with a nice warm fireplace. The lobby also had a nice coffee shop that was convenient in the morning.

If traveling to Salt Lake, I'd give the place a look.
