“Best university guest house I've stayed at”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 23, 2014

Apart from the guest rooms and amenities being significantly above-average, the complimentary breakfast really is excellent, with fresh hot eggs, omelets, sausages, toast, cereal etc. The little things are especially good and noteworthy, such as the courteous and helpful staff, the convenience store open 24/7 (next to front desk) and the fast convenient wi-fi available anywhere. Also one of the best amenities is the complimentary shuttle for campus destinations, which is very useful because walking may not always be the most convenient and quick option (this is not an easy campus to walk across, depending on where you're going). To top it all off, the view from the rooms facing the mountains is breathtaking.

Room Tip: Get a room on the top (3rd) floor facing the mountains.

This was my second experience at the Guest House. I recommend this place highly. Rooms are clean and comfortable and service is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet has good options with a comfortable dining area.

I recently stayed at this lovely hotel and had a stellar experience! The reception staff was incredibly nice and helpful, while the coffee and drink options in the lobby were a nice plus upon arrival. The room was everything I needed it to be, the breakfast had plenty of good options to choose from, there was plenty of parking, and it was steps away from Trax. Major thumbs up for this place!

Room Tip: I had a unit on the second floor and the layout was awesome if you prefer to have the sink/vanity se...

Spacious room, clean comfortable bed and pillows, beautiful campus and surroundings. Good value for your money. If you like history, the the historical photos of Fort Douglas and the campus are a joy to see and read about. The breakfast dining room and food were handy too.

We stayed here while my wife had a conference at the University. The rate was great for the value. It's located right on campus, so easy access if you're doing things at the University of Utah or the hospital. Rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast was great! The pictures in the halls were fun. They showed a lot of the history of the University of Utah. We will definitely stay again.

Stayed here with two girlfriends for a wedding recently. We were very pleased with the cleanliness and spaciousness of the room. The staff were all very friendly and professional. The front desk came though in a pinch and provided us with needle and thread to string lei for the bride (which she was extremely happy with). We took advantage of the free shuttle to take us to the wedding site (Red Butte Garden). There was a mini fridge in the room as well as a couch and a view of the mountains. We found the breakfast to be very good for a free hotel breakfast. There were bagels, yogurt, eggs, sausage, fresh fruit, and Starbucks coffee. We also loved that the coffee and tea was available all day in the breakfast area as were apples and bananas. The only complaint raised by one of my friends was that there was no bottle opener in the room which I wouldn't really expect in Salt Lake City, UT. There were bottle openers available for purchase near the front desk though :)

I have stayed at this place several times. It is a great option if you are visiting or doing business with the University of Utah, or if you are just visiting the Salt Lake Valley. Highly recommendable!
