“An OK stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2014

The room is roomy & well appointed, with ample outlets for plugins. The single washer & dryer available for guest use are appreciated and a reason why I booked this room. The breakfast area is spacious. A (long) block from a trolley stop. One problem is that every time I open the door to the room, I am hit with a stale odor, as if the room hasn't had any fresh air in it for weeks. Also, the room fan in this room (239) seems to run only when the very noisy a/c kicks on, so the only way to circulate the air is to run the a/c - a problem because I like a fan running throughout the night but would still like to room to be quiet. I could stay here again, but definitely in a different room.

Hello OK stay!

Thanks for taking the time to review our hotel. I am glad we had enough outlets for your needs. We try to air out the rooms often but it is more difficult to accomplish during the busy summer season. Some of the AC units are older and occasionally make some noise. I hope you were able to get some sleep and next time you stay we will definitely get you into a different room.

I almost always stay at Comfort Inn and I am certainly glad I did this time. I was in town with my boys for Comic Con for 5 days and I was worried about all that time in a room with teenage boys but I was so pleased at the size of the room - we all had our personal space. The location was perfect for going to and from the Con as well as exploring the city. Parking was a bit tricky so I found a spot and didn't move all week. The hot tub was great for relaxing at the end of the day, the boys used it every night. The fridge and the microwave helped to keep them in food and the breakfast met expectations. The staff was friendly and told me about evening cocktail hour but I was too busy to make it, maybe next time. When we decided we were too tired to drive home and wanted to stay another day the front desk woman easily accommodated us. I am so pleased, we'll surely stay there the next time I'm in SLC.

Room Tip: since parking is all around back, I'd ask for a room near the back door for easy loading and unl...

Have I ever given five stars to a Comfort Inn? I don't think so. But, this one was in a perfect location downtown, walking distance to lots of restaurants. The rooms were very well outfitted, and the beds were super comfy. And, all this only cost us $100. Can't beat that.

We stayed overnight here whilst on a visit to SLC. The room was comfortable, and I thought the free happy hour with food and drinks was a super bonus. The location is very central to downtown SLC and it is easy walking distance. However my husband had a fall in the shower as the bath mat was missing. He cut his foot on the tap and badly bruised his hip and leg. We called down to reception and they weren't even that concerned but said they would report the incident to a manager.
A manager never got back to us and when I checked out the receptionist said that the maintenance man was replacing the bath mat.....too late for my poor hubby though! She was not very apologetic that he had suffered an injury so i felt compelled to email the general manager. I never even got the courtesy of a reply! Kind of really disappointed me that customer service is just not that important to them!

Thank you for your feedback. I am very distressed to hear of your poor experience both in the room and with my staff. I have searched for your email through all our accounts but cannot find it. I would very much like to make this right. Please contact me at the hotel switchboard so I can discuss the matter with you.

When we checked in, James was at the desk. He had our reservation and keys ready and acknowledged my membership in the hotel rewards program. He had information about the hotel and the local restaurants and attractions ready. He could not have been more cheerful nor helpful. He handled a phone call while I was still checking in and was as polite with that caller. In the morning, Diana took special care to show us the route by walking outside to give directions. She was swift in printing our bill and engaged me in a conversation about her own travel plans. The breakfast room is on the mezzanine--very inviting and clean. All in all, this was a very pleasant experience due to the staff's excellent service.

Room Tip: I don't think you can get a bad room here. All the ones we saw were larger than usual hotel room...

We like Comfort Inn for the quality service, rooms, and amenities. We weren't disappointed in those. The price was a bit high, but I usually make our reservations in advance online, so that could have been the difference. We had a nice king room, with a sleeper-sofa. Comfortable and clean, just as expected. The breakfast was good, just not as good as the one in Rawlins, WY. They are also a bit friendlier at the Rawlins Comfort Inn. Not that the SLC Comfort Inn was rude, just not as outgoing.

Thanks for staying with us and thanks for the kind words. We are a somewhat a-typical Comfort as we are located in a major metropolitan downtown area. We offer the best rates we can with the conventions and events that occur often near our hotel. We hope to see you again soon!

This hotel was very comfortable. The beds were extremely comfortable! The manager on the desk kindly put us on a first floor room and even went to a great deal of effort writing out a map of the best restaurants and places to eat. It was the quietness and the cleanliness of the room which was excellent coupled with the service I would stay here again. Highly recommended!!
