“Modern trendy, and easy to get to”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 29, 2012

I flew into to Salt Lake City and attended training downtown. This hotel is 2 minutes from the airport and 10 minutes to downntown. I was there for a week, and this was great! The rooms are large, with all the amenities you could want. The service was great! The food was great! I do not know what to tell them to improve... I will be back!!!!!

Room Tip: Rooms on low even side have view of the mountains.

The staff went above and beyond the call to be courteous and helpful to our group of conference attendees from Minnesota. The food served as part of the conference and in the cafe was outstanding, the staff attended to any and all needs during our two-night stay in Salt Lake City, and we were given great recommendations for city landmarks, dining, and transportation options of which we took full advantage. Thanks to everyone who made this a very enjoyable and memorable visit!

After flying into SLC airport at 11pm, we were very happy with the Hyatt Place at the airport. The room was very modern and stylish, not your usual chain hotel sameness. The bed was ultra comfy, the breakfast buffet was great given that it was part of the room price, i would definitely recommend staying here if you arrive late, or have an early departure.

This hotel is 5 minutes from the SLC airport. The shuttel runs all the time. Very clean and very spacious rooms. The bed and the pillows are great! Each room has a mini fridge. Parking is free.Just 10 minutes to downtown too! Nice breakfast in the morning.Good coffee too!

Room Tip: I was on the 5th floor and that was good. Ask to be away from the free way

When I travel I bring guest that are executives from various parts if the USA. When they travel the hotel is their HQ for the week. They need rear and. Sense of security. The SLC airport location is great for this type if travel. Each person on this trip has commented about the location and quality and asked about staying here when traveling with family. Great job and it reflects well on the location GM.

Easy freeway access, large/clean rooms, attentive staff, cosmopolitan atmosphere, very comfortable bed, quiet room. The only negative is that the main entrance is on the opposite side of the building as the parking, its kind of silly, also their interactive television menu is slow and not very user-friendly.

Room Tip: If you are an airline enthusiast, get a room facing south and you will have a great view of runway 3...

Dear Guest,

We are glad that you build some solid level of expectations when Hyatt is in question. We are proud that you liked us and beside the challenge with the position of main entrance and slow TV menu it seems that for the rest of your stay we filled those expectations. We sure hope to see you back at our place. Thank you for your feedback.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2012

We stayed here twice – at the beginning and end of a trip to Utah. I wasn’t happy with the first stay, but had a better experience the second time.

On the first day, we were given a second floor room. The room was large, modern and well appointed with a king sized bed, large TV, fridge and sectional sofa – but getting a good night’s sleep was impossible. The air conditioner was extremely LOUD and could not be shut off. Between the noise and the cold air blowing directly onto the bed it was impossible to sleep. We eventually had to unplug the unit. Unfortunately, the windows don’t open and the room was stifling. To top it off the continuous hum of air conditioners from adjoining rooms kept me awake all night.

As other posters have pointed out, the lighting in the room is not wired properly. If you want the bed-side lamps on you have to have all the room lights on. They are controlled by the switch at the door. You can turn the bedside lights off from bed, but still have to get up to turn off all the other lights. We ended up unscrewing 4 light bulbs throughout the room in order to read in bed.

Rather than cancel our second reservation we requested and received a room on the top floor. This room was even nicer than the first – the same furnishings but a different layout. The air conditioning controls worked this time and as the temperature had dropped the air-conditioning wasn’t needed. I can’t say it was quiet – we heard planes taking off throughout the evening but by 10 pm air traffic had pretty much ceased. This time I got a good night’s sleep.

The hotel has a lot going for it: close to the airport, free shuttle, stylish, spacious rooms, a pool and work-out room, nice lobby, friendly staff, good breakfast, great coffee - all for a very reasonable price. In fact, this was the lowest price we paid for a room on our two week vacation in Utah.

Would I recommend it? Yes, with reservations ... if you are a light sleeper, or you like to sleep with your windows open, you may want to look elsewhere.

Room Tip: Rooms at back (odd numbers) are away from highway. Top floor rooms nicer and have less AC noise.
